Vol 1: Chapter 11: The Road at The Bottom of The Abyss

The Path to The Saint Legend

The Road at The Bottom of The Abyss

We were walking along the path through a deep, dark abyss. Chris was lighting up the surroundings with her light magic, but it was still incredibly dark, and I couldn't see anything in front of me.

In the first place, is this place still in the dungeon? I can't help but feel like I'm moving through a strange place. Well, there's no point worrying about it since there's nothing we can do but move forward.

"Aleph-san, do you think there's an exit from this abyss...?"

Chris muttered as she walked in front of me. I couldn't see her expression because she was facing forward, but there was a hint of tension in her voice, so I wondered if she was worried.

"Honestly, I can't even imagine where it leads. In fact, I'm surprised there's even a path through the abyss."

"Indeed... When I think of the bottom of the abyss, I also imagine it as a dead end. But when you think about the fact that there's a path like this, it seems a bit strange."

"That's right. If the teleportation magic circle in the square is the real target, it would be strange to go to the trouble of making a path at the bottom like this."

I've been thinking about this for a long time. If there's a road in a place where it's not needed, isn't there something ahead that they want to hide? If it's an exit, then that's good.

But what if that wasn't the case? The reason we came to the Fire Dragon Cave,... an unnatural dungeon, a mysterious path to the bottom of the abyss.

It feels as if everything is being guided...

---No, I have a premonition, something telling me that something important is going to happen in the future.

At that time, the hero's party was all ready and was about to enter the magic teleportation circle in the center of the square.

Aria, who had just returned, was very upset when she heard about the death of her sister... Chris. Why? She thought she had killed the trash, but then her blood-related sister died...? Her mind was in a state of confusion. She couldn't accept the sadness of her family's death and wanted to scream and cry, but that didn't happen. That's because Hayato acted immediately.

Hayato looked at Aria, hugged her and comforted her.

As Aria looks into Hayato's eyes, her confused mind gradually calms down. She can't help but feel fondness for Hayato, who comforted her, and she strongly recalls wanting Hayato and wanting to be connected to her.

The throbbing in her pussy intensified, and she felt more like she wanted to have sex more than grieving about her sister's death. To put it bluntly, it was abnormal. But no one cared, no one could. Because all three of them there felt the same way.

If someone who knew all about it and had seen this situation, it would have been a truly horrifying sight.

"Everyone, we don't know what's going to happen in the future. But we have to win, for Christina's sake."

"Hayato...thanks. I'm sure Chris will be very happy to hear you say that."

"Aria, when the battle is over, will you let me heal the wounds in your heart? For that, I'll lend you my body as much as you want."

"Hayato...If you say that to me...!"

"Lily and I wish we could heal you as well... Chris-chan and I were close as sisters... that's why I feel lonely."

"It's okay, Lily, Finne, why don't you all come to my room today? I'll comfort your wounded bodies and minds."

"Hayato-sama... if you make such a kind invitation, I'm sure I'll give in..."

The pointless conversation continues. Using the dead Chris as an excuse to say nice things, it's actually a meaningless story of a pointless orgy. When it's over, the three women share the large baggage that Aleph was carrying, and the heroes enter the magic circle.

A dazzling light enveloped the four of them and the transfer began. But what awaited them at the destination?

They arrived, and found themselves in front of the entrance to the Fire Dragon's Cave.

"Eh?"

"What does this mean...?"

"Hayato-sama, what on earth is this..."

"What the ...Huh?"

The four were stunned. After pondering for a while, the hero came to a certain conclusion.

"We were deceived by the Royal Magician... I think this isn't a cave that contains anything necessary to defeat the Demon King, but a dungeon created simply as a form of harassment."

"No way! For a magician belonging to the kingdom to do something like that! My little sister died because of that!"

"Aria's anger is justified. The person who spread this terrible information will receive swift punishment. For deceiving the hero, and for killing an irreplaceable comrade."

"Lily will kill him, I'll never forgive him..."

"Leave it to me. There's nothing for you guys to worry about. I'm tired, so let's go back to the inn for now. And then... let's all comfort each other for the sadness of losing Christina..."

After this, the four of them returned to the inn and had a great time. The moans that could be heard from the inn all day long were said to be a greatest nuisance to the guests staying there and those in the surrounding area.

And one month later, the hero petitioned the king to punish the magician who had provided the false information, and he was captured, tortured, and finally executed.

After this, those who had seen the example made and feared it, stopped giving useful information to the heroes, for they did not want to be killed if they were wrong.

We've been walking for three hours since then, and we still haven't arrived. You're making me wait too long. I guess this is an event that's supposed to be a turning point in The Saint Legend. But after walking this much and still not being able to see the end, it feels like the future is literally dark, and it's no laughing matter!

Did I make a mistake? The thought made me waver for a moment, but then I reconsidered. I was still worried about the magic teleportation circle in the plaza, but it wasn't like me to be so timid.

(I'm sure I chose the right one. A mysterious path at the bottom of the abyss, a character in an awakening position that is common in Aleph... a large-scale event of killing allies... it should be going smoothly.)

With my confidence restored, I set off on my way. The Aleph bastard called out to me, thinking that I was mentally exhausted and staggering along the pitch black abyss, but he was completely off the mark, so I told him to just shut up.

After walking for another 30 minutes, we found a staircase to go down. I didn't know what was further down the abyss, but I became convinced. This was the right way. It would be no joke if Aleph fell to his death here, so I took his hand and went down the stairs.

Aleph seemed to be in a panic for some reason, so I acted just as panicked as him and made a bunch of conversation. He must have thought I felt the same way, so he calmed down, but for some reason I felt like he gripped my hand tighter.

I didn't say anything important, but... it seems my likability has increased again. Am I getting closer to Aleph Route?... Please forgive me, I'm not gay.

When I reached the bottom of the stairs, there was a huge door. It was beautiful, like a stained glass window in a church. But there was no handle. It must be defective!

"W-how are we going to open this?...It's so big, it's impossible for two people to open it, right? (It's a shitty scenario where we've come this far and are stuck. I wish some weird Arabian would just show up and open the door.)"

"I don't know, but I feel like I've been being called for some reason."

"... Aleph-san? (You sound more like the protagonist than me, and don't make such conspicuous statements, you ex-porter.)"

Aleph bastard muttered some incomprehensible crazy stuff then stood in front of the stained-glass door and touched the center.

Then--

There was a loud noise and the large doors began to open.

What is this? Is he the main character? If so, what about my position?!

I'm supposed to be the protagonist!

Just as I was beginning to lose consciousness due to feelings of inferiority, the large door was completely open.

Aleph and I go inside together.

The place was just like a chapel. What was different from usual was its size. It was a super chapel that seemed to be more than ten times the size of a normal chapel. There was no ceiling, and it was so high up that I couldn't see anything. I wonder if there was a ceiling.

(There's no way there's nothing in a place like this. Now then, I'm looking forward to seeing what's there.)

As we went deeper into the Super Chapel, we found it.

A sword is stuck into the pedestal in the center.

A sword I've seen somewhere in legend.

This sword has become so famous that even replicas are extremely valuable.

That's right...

--It was the holy sword Arondight, used by the first hero.

AN: It was a legendary... whatever

Author's Note

First of all, I apologize for what I said in the previous chapter, about how we would not see hero party after chapter 10. Summimasen deshita! This time it's for real, at least until the middle part of next volume. Next, I was a little sad about how there is no one responding to my question in chapter 7. But it's all fine. I'll borrow the word a wise protagonist of certain works, "Silence means consent!" So there it is, just copy-paste the link to your tab, you would see the illustration Regarding the name of the Holy Sword, I was contemplating between Arondight or Arondite, but eventually choose the former, as the latter just sound like some sort of mineral rock like Adamantite, Graphite, etc.
