Chapter 302: A New Interview Style: Leaving Things Unsaid
Chapter 302: A New Interview Style: Leaving Things Unsaid
The entire dorm room was instantly thrown into chaos, and everyone rushed over.
Old Li immediately quit his game, unplugged all the cables from his monitor, and moved it over to Yu Hang’s desk.
The other roommates surrounded the brand-new PC case, their eyes full of envy.
The courier skillfully connected the PC to the monitor. Once it powered on, it proved to be in perfect condition.
“This is the after-sales contact number. If the computer has any issues, or if you want to upgrade in the future, just call for technical support.”
“Well then, enjoy your gaming! If you’re satisfied with my service, please remember to give me a five-star rating!”
The courier left, even taking the dorm’s trash with him on his way out.
“Quick, quick, quick—run a benchmark!”
The whole dorm was more anxious than Yu Hang.
Soon, the benchmark results came out. The dazzling score and the high-end, premium components practically blinded the group.
“This computer… it’s gotta be at least five or six thousand, right?” Someone gulped.
Old Li snorted. “Five or six thousand? Are you looking down on it? I checked—this build uses top-tier brands across the board. Fifteen thousand is more like it.”
A chorus of gasps erupted around Yu Hang.
A 15,000-yuan PC… That was the kind of dream build they could only drool over!
Even Old Li’s eyes were full of envy. As the dorm’s resident hardware expert, he talked a big game, but when building his own rig, he could only afford a mid- to low-end value-for-money machine.
Why? Simple—he was broke.
College students all lived on tight allowances. Aside from a few rich kids, who could afford a 15,000-yuan PC?
“Old Yu, are you secretly some rich young master? Or did you go outside and, ahem, work at night to make money? Got any connections you can hook your brothers up with?”
Everyone was staring at Yu Hang with pure, unfiltered envy.
Yu Hang spat. “Go to hell! You’re the one doing night work! I won this from a raffle! Moyu Internet Café is running an event—there’s a chance to win a PC just by using their computers. That’s how I got this one.”
Old Li’s eyes lit up. “What the—seriously? When did that happen?”
“This morning,” Yu Hang replied. “I won it while browsing. And they delivered it by noon! The speed is insane.”
Everyone stared at each other.
They’d heard of internet cafés giving out free hours… but giving away gaming desktops? That was a first.
Too rich! Outrageously rich!
One of the guys silently started packing his things.
Old Li said sourly, “Forget it, you’re dreaming. Old Yu is just insanely lucky. Plus, tons of people must be participating. Even if you go, forget winning—you might not even find an empty seat.”
Yu Hang thought for a moment. “Not necessarily.”
“Moyu Internet Café never has a super high occupancy rate. Even this morning, it was only sixty to seventy percent full.”
“And this event is really low-key. When I won, they didn’t make any announcement. The staff just quietly took my address and info. Nobody else knew.”
Old Li and the others immediately began packing their stuff.
“Go, go, go! We’re going to Moyu Internet Café today!”
“Exactly—winning doesn’t matter. We just want to experience that legendary high-end internet café!”
“Wait up, let me put on pants.”
“Where is it? Does anyone know the address?”
“Hold on, let me finish this assignment!”
“We’ll wait for you in the internet cafe!”
Yu Hang couldn’t help but laugh. These guys were too real.
Before, they all complained that Moyu Internet Café was too expensive and refused to go. But the moment they heard there was a chance to win a PC, they all couldn’t sit still.
Yu Hang simply smiled and watched. He had already won; there was no way he’d win another one.
Opening the Moyu Delivery packaging, a delicious aroma drifted out.
While eating, Yu Hang started downloading various games on his new machine.
The dorm Wi-Fi was slow, but with an accelerator, playing regular online games wasn’t a problem.
Using this computer for anything other than gaming would be a crime against heaven.
While downloading games, Yu Hang opened a shopping site, thinking about what kind of monitor he should buy.
Since he now had a 10,000-yuan-plus gaming rig, how could he not pair it with a top-tier, high-refresh-rate esports monitor?
As for keyboard and mouse, even more so—using cheap peripherals with such a beast of a rig would feel like a sin.
Just as Yu Hang was browsing, his phone rang again.
“Hello, your delivery has arrived.”
Yu Hang felt dizzy. Another delivery?
Since Old Li and the others were heading to Moyu Internet Café anyway, they all went downstairs together.
It was once again a courier from Against the Wind Logistics—though not the same one as earlier.
This time, the courier pulled a large box and several smaller boxes from the electric tricycle.
Yu Hang was confused. “What’s this?”
The courier smiled. “We just received instructions from our supervisor. Customers who win the Moyu Internet Café raffle not only receive a PC tower, but also a monitor and a full set of peripherals. So I rushed over to deliver them right away.”
Yu Hang was overjoyed. “Holy crap! Old Li, help me move these upstairs!”
Old Li clasped his hands and bowed. “Farewell!”
The whole group scattered instantly, disappearing faster than a gust of wind, leaving Yu Hang and the courier guy behind.

Moyu Internet Café—Huanyu Sky Street Branch
Zhang Yuan and Ma Yang were sitting in the lounge area, sipping coffee and chatting.
“President Pei really goes all-out. Once this week-long event ends, ROF’s brand awareness should skyrocket.”
“Yeah. Even though we’re losing a lot of money for now, as long as Jingzhou customers come to recognize ROF as a high-quality, reliable PC build brand, once sales pick up, all those losses will be recovered.”
“Not to mention, the more components we purchase in bulk, the lower the overall costs. We’ll save money there too.”
“What I don’t understand,” Zhang Yuan said, puzzled, “is why President Pei doesn’t want the Moyu Internet Café giveaway event to be widely advertised.”
In his view, since the event only lasted seven days, a “win a gaming PC” raffle would massively boost the café’s seat occupancy rate. They should be shouting it from the rooftops.
Even though it would cost some marketing budget, Moyu Internet Café’s profits would easily earn it back.
Just as they were talking, a series of hurried footsteps came from outside.
“Is— is there still a seat open in this place?”
“Huff— yes! There is!”
“Hurry! Get on one!”
A few students, clearly tired from sprinting, rushed to the counter, scanned their IDs, paid, and immediately threw themselves into empty seats to start gaming.
A few minutes later, more people came rushing in, snatching up seats at lightning speed.
Zhang Yuan blinked. “Huh?”
People running like this definitely weren’t here just to casually play games. They obviously knew about the PC giveaway event and came charging in.
By three or four in the afternoon, the entire Moyu Internet Café was completely packed. Some people couldn’t find a seat and had to leave in despair, planning to check other Moyu branches for luck.
Seeing the café packed wall-to-wall, Zhang Yuan couldn’t help but sigh.
“So that’s it!”
“President Pei already knew that whether we advertised it or not, Moyu Internet Café would be full.”
“In that case, why waste the advertising budget?”
“Such frugality and careful budgeting—truly a spirit worth learning from!”
……
……
On the other side, Pei Qian was rubbing his temples, trying to ease his headache.
Although the plan itself was solid, once executed in reality… it turned out to be a mess!
Especially the Moyu Internet Café event—Pei Qian realized he had been far too naïve.
Who said that if they didn’t promote it, players wouldn’t find out?!
It was only the afternoon of the very first day, and the players had already filled every empty seat in the café!
It was foreseeable that for the next full week, all Moyu Internet Cafés were going to be completely, ridiculously packed.
Thankfully, Pei Qian reacted quickly. He immediately added free monitors and full peripherals for all the lucky winners—spending even more money.
Pei Qian also wanted to further increase the giveaways, like sending a dozen PCs a day, but the system rejected it, so he had to drop the idea.
Still, after doing the math, Pei Qian realized that although there had been some minor hiccups, the overall situation was still stable.
Very stable.
At this pace, he didn’t even need his employees to “help spend money.” He could easily hit five to six million in losses.
After calculating this number, even Pei Qian himself felt shocked.
Happiness had come too suddenly—almost unbelievable!
“Heh, looks like I’ve finally found the true road to losing money.”
“A rising star of future spendthrift tycoons is being born!”
“The dream of becoming the richest man by losing money isn’t far away!”
Pei Qian couldn’t help feeling smug.
Sure, the next cycle would probably be full of catastrophic messes to clean up, but Pei Qian didn’t care.
As long as this cycle resulted in a loss, then next cycle—flood or fire, whatever.
If the next cycle truly seemed impossible to lose money, he could just slack off and let the system’s wealth accumulate for a bit. Even with the 100:1 conversion ratio, he would still get a decent amount.
And if he really needed to lose money, he could always open some new money-burning industry!
Feeling happy, Pei Qian opened the official game platform, planning to find a fun game to play.
But the moment he entered the homepage… a very eye-catching interview special popped out:
“Exclusive Interview with Tengda Games: Bringing Players’ Dreams of Perfection into Reality.”
And a subtitle:
“Unveiling the Mystery Behind the Creator of Turn Back Before It’s Too Late!”
Pei Qian shivered in fright.
What the hell!
He knew the interview results would come out fairly soon, but… this was WAY too fast!
The interview team left Jingzhou on Sunday morning, and only thirty-something hours had passed.
And they had already finished the interview, the editing, the layout, and published it?
They must’ve been injected with drugs!
Would it kill them to slack off a bit and publish it next month?!
Just seeing the title made Pei Qian instinctively uneasy. Thinking about the interview process…
Please, please don’t cause trouble, officials!
Pei Qian trembled, immediately clicking on the interview page.
There was a written article and also a video.
At first glance, the text didn’t mention him much.
Pei Qian let out a small sigh of relief.
But after carefully looking at the first line of the introduction… his heart instantly dropped.
They didn’t mention him much, but the problem was even bigger.
The introduction read:
“Shakespeare once said that there are a thousand Hamlets in a thousand readers. The same story will always have different interpretations.”
“In this interview, we adopted a brand-new approach. Using deliberate ‘blank spaces,’ we aim to outline the silhouette of today’s star game developer.”
“As for what kind of person he truly is… we believe that after reading this interview, you will find your answer.”
