Chapter 41: The Problems that caused

Maruen Danuz County was going through a time of confusion and alert.

An unexpected and extremely rare weather phenomenon there struck almost all of the Count's lands swiftly and suddenly, not only ruining the crops and homes of many of his farming towns and villages, but also causing landslides along trade roads connecting numerous communities, disrupting commercial activities for a time.

Even night raids, both to suppress bandits and by the bandits themselves to plunder, were temporarily interrupted by this unfortunate course of events.

“Your Honor…this is clearly the work of a magical force that only the Fairies could carry out. In fact, we can feel the unique aura of beings from another realm influencing the atmosphere to cause this storm.”

The Magi in the Count's service were serious, informing them of the causes of this problematic situation in the middle of the night.

The Count, a wise and stern-looking man, looked for a moment at his wife, who looked completely bewildered and pale at the news, and then frowned at the Magi, his low voice booming loudly amidst the thunder outside. “…Is this true? Are you sure?”

The Wizard looked at the lady of the house with concern for a moment before continuing, “Yes, we are sure; the ones causing this are Spriggans.”

“…Damn insects!”

Everyone fell silent after the woman's outburst, as she gritted her teeth in fury.

“They dare….! They dare to cause trouble in my husband’s territory!? Those mindless vermin!? Have they forgotten who blessed these lands!? How dare they carry out this insult!?”

“Reyia, calm down,” the Count whispered calmly.

“Calm down!? When those vermin ignore the laws of the fairies to do whatever they want!?” His wife, Reyia, glared at him. “Look at what they’re doing to this land at will! Calm down? I have to exterminate them with my own hands so they’ll learn not to mess with people under the care of a Great Fairy, John!”

“I’m not saying those Spriggans won’t be punished, Reiya,” the Count, John Mareun Danuz, replied with the same calm as before, while returning his gaze to the uncomfortable mage and his entourage of apprentices, “Simply…we must know the point of origin where they began to cause problems before doing anything else, don’t you think?”

“…The source of the magic causing this problem is in the north, most likely somewhere near a village or town. Perhaps they’re seeking revenge…” the Wizard humbly replied.

“That settles it, dear. You don’t need to lift a finger; anyway, a few ‘Cleaners’ will be enough for such weak Fairies.” The navy-haired Earl dismissively waved his hand as he spoke to his wife, his eyes glancing at a subordinate who nodded silently, before magically disappearing.

The red-haired, fierce-eyed woman snorted as she crossed her arms, realizing how annoying it would be to search for those things on her own and not wanting to waste time, after all.

The Wizard secretly twisted his lips. The only ones who would call beings who manipulate the weather weak are you and your wife, my lord…

Though that wasn't surprising, after all; the Count was the strongest Sky Knight in the world, and his Wife, a Great Fairy of noble lineage.

Spriggans? They're not worthy of being personally eliminated by them. They'll be dead by tomorrow anyway, as they'll be easily found and their bodies extracted by the Cleaners.

Aside from the annoying incidents caused by those ugly little creatures, there wouldn't be any major problems these days, right?

Unknown to this Wizard and his lords….this incident would actually mark a series of tremendous causal changes upon the world.

For better or worse, the original story of what a certain girl knew was destined to change by the thoughtless actions of those evil Fairies.

“By the way, Maru, how did you know the village Armorer is a Half-Elf?”

“Huh?”

Thadeus-kun's question was like a lightning bolt that struck my heart quickly and unexpectedly.

Oh… wait, judging by the light coming through the window, that was real thunder, hahaha… I mean, with the barrier, how the heck does the sound of thunder even get inside the inn anyway?

“Oh? Onee-chan and Nii-san already knew that? I heard it from Kaya-san, so it’s a surprise.”

“Huh?”

Once again, I let out a silly gasp of surprise. Did Lily also know from the Elf?

…..I feel like there’s something strange about this village!

Not only was the future hero born here, but there also lives an Archmage or something like an abnormal inn owner (Mother), a Half-Elf with exceptional alchemical skills selling cheap weapons as a gunsmith, and a perverted Elf with great knowledge of spirit magic who also casually teaches sex to little children….

What's next? Will Kami-sama be at the bar drinking and dancing with the merry drunks?

…The thunder sounded louder this time. Did I offend you, Kami-sama? Please forgive me…

No, let's get back to the topic since I stupidly got sidetracked.

“I know because I happened to see his ears!” I replied to Thadeus with all the confidence I could muster, since I couldn’t say how I would know otherwise.

“Oh, I see!”

“It makes sense!”

They totally believed it! There wasn't a shred of doubt in those two's seemingly innocent eyes!

Though for some reason Thadeus-kun was still naked so it was kind of weird….at least he milked his penis so much that he seems to be in full sage mode right now….still, it's really big….♥

No, concentrate, Maru.

Currently, the three of us were sitting in a triangle-like arrangement, with Lily to my left and Thadeus in front of us.

We spent a while carefully cleaning my room...well, hiding evidence under the bed again, like the mattress covered in semen, blood and sweat, spraying perfume everywhere to hide the smell of semen and more (Yes...I have perfumes) and then we sat here to rest a little.

We quickly began discussing what to do about the four Spriggans' siege outside, and how to ensure we wouldn't be discovered by the adults because of them. However, it was obvious we couldn't eliminate the source of the problem first, and Thadeus-kun had no choice but to stay here until daylight, just to be safe.

Sure, we could alert the Adventurers sleeping here, but Thadeus might be exposed, and it would be hard to explain why he was here…yes, Mom would definitely suspect something fishy.

And you would be right!

As such, it was a No for that.

Anyway….

“Thadeus-kun, Aren’t you going to get dressed?”

“Oh, that’s true…but my shirt is soaked with sweat and it would feel uncomfortable.”

“Will it not have dried up by now?”

“But the smell…”

“You can cover it up with perfume, and you could still wear your pants.”

“Would a normal man make perfume for women....?“

The three of us had that conversation for a while, then grew bored and went to sleep, deciding not to worry about the monsters who couldn't get into the room now even if they tried. After all, is there anything more reliable than a great mage for a master?

Ah, I think Thadeus-kun and I forgot something, but it shouldn't be a big deal...

…I thought so, but after waking up later, I realized - Lily, you little brat…don't use pelvic pain or whatever as an excuse, you could have just gone to sleep in your own room, right?!

When I opened my eyes again, the dawn light was streaming in through the window, causing my eyes to blink confusedly. Feeling somewhat tired, I raised my upper body and yawned, my voice tender, and looked curiously at the open window, where Lily was kicking something in her sleep next to it.

Thadeus was looking out the window for some reason, wearing the clothes he had taken off last night.

“Thadeus-kun?” I called, brushing away strands of hair that covered my face.

“Ah, good morning, Maru. How are you?”

I stretched lazily with my eyes closed, “Well… They’ve left, right?”

I felt Thadeus's intense gaze on me as I performed this action, unnerving me, before I looked away and looked outside again.

“Yeah… they’re completely gone, those Spriggans… but they made a mess of everything with their Storm Magic, or whatever…” Thadeus twisted his lips. “Right now, a lot of the villagers are actually out cleaning up the mess they made, preventing me from going home peacefully… Ah.”

Thadeus quickly hid, possibly because he noticed a villager passing by.

"I see…"

That was a problem.
