Chapter 87: Candy and Wine

Chapter 87: Candy and Wine

Chen Yin stayed with Xiang’er on Yushan Mountain for a few more days.

During this time, Xiang’er became much more cheerful and lively. The melancholy that once lingered in her eyes, hiding unspoken worries, had vanished, as if she had returned to the most innocent and carefree years of her life.

Chen Yin also behaved himself for once. Not only did he accompany Xiang’er in eating, drinking, and having fun, but more importantly, he made sure their master stayed put on the mountain to heal.

Several times, the loli-looking old lady had tried to sneak out in search of wine, only to be grabbed by the scruff of her collar and dragged back to her room by Chen Yin.

For days on end, their master’s cave residence echoed with pitiful wails.

"Help! Somebody! I’m being illegally imprisoned! A beautiful girl is being held captive!"

Even with this free time, Chen Yin didn’t just idle around. Instead, he used the opportunity to thoroughly study the system shop that had suddenly appeared within his scroll.

To be honest, this was the first time he had ever encountered something like a system.

Although he had written plenty of system-based novels in his past life, experiencing a real system firsthand was still quite astonishing.

This system had no task list and no points list—only an infinitely vast system shop.

It contained countless items, spanning from this very continent to his previous Earth, and even to worlds beyond his imagination.

—It felt like a natural treasure trove.

Of course, Chen Yin had tried taking things from the shop. Some items he could retrieve, while others were inaccessible. The things he could take out were mostly trivial objects, while the truly powerful cultivation techniques, pills, magical tools, and weapons remained locked away.

Since he had no system points, the only explanation he could come up with was that he didn’t need points to take items from the shop, but he did need permission.

And currently, his permissions only allowed him to take insignificant trinkets.

Even so, for the past two days, Chen Yin’s favorite pastime had been dressing Xiang’er up in different outfits.

“Xiang’er, try this one on.”

“This one, and this one too!”

A JK pleated skirt with a blouse, black silk maid outfit, office lady uniform with glasses, a cheongsam with high heels, fishnet stockings with bunny girl attire—

Finally, when he pulled out a three-piece bikini, Yu Xiang could no longer endure it. Her face burning red, she hurled the swimsuit at Chen Yin’s head.

“Stupid senior brother! Where the hell did you find all these shameless outfits?! Why is there so little fabric?!”

“It’s fine! As long as it looks good.” Chen Yin gave her a thumbs-up. “Look at this swimsuit—lightweight, breathable, sweat-wicking. And with Xiang’er’s figure, just a little stretch and—mpph!”

Before he could even finish imagining the towering, blood-rushing scene, Yu Xiang had already kicked him out of the room in embarrassment and fury.

“You! Stupid! Senior! Brother!”

Chen Yin clambered up from the ground, patted off the dust, and acted like nothing had happened.

After kicking him out, Yu Xiang sat on her bed, still fuming.

But after a moment, her gaze couldn’t help but drift toward the pile of dazzling clothes on the bed.

“…”

She hesitated for a while, then cautiously picked up the bikini, holding it against herself and checking in the mirror.

‘...Does Senior Brother really like clothes like this?’

‘Could it be… that men really prefer women wearing as little as possible?’

Just the thought alone made Yu Xiang’s cheeks burn even hotter.

In the main hall of their master’s residence, Chen Yin sat leisurely, sipping tea with his legs crossed—looking as relaxed as ever.

Before long, the door to a side room creaked open a tiny bit.

“No way.” Without even lifting his head, Chen Yin said flatly, “Until your injuries are healed, you’re not going anywhere.”

From the crack in the door, a cute little head peeked out. After a brief pause, she cleared her throat seriously and spoke in an authoritative tone:

“Disciple! I’ve noticed that you’ve been quite arrogant lately.”

“Do not think that just because I’m injured, you can ride over my head.”

“As your master, I order you to fetch ten jars of the finest wine for me at once, or else I shall—”

Before she could finish her haughty speech, a loud bang startled her, making her open her eyes wide.

On the hall’s table, there were now over a dozen bottles of wine—some in jars, some in bottles, and others in all kinds of strange packaging with unfamiliar writing.

While leisurely sipping his tea, Chen Yin waved a hand, and all the bottle caps popped open at once.

“—Eep!”

In an instant, a flood of fragrant alcohol scents filled the air, all rushing into Yu Ling’s tiny, adorable nose.

She stared in shock, her mouth nearly drooling.

“Ahaha, um, ahem, my dear—cough, my good disciple.”

Their master quickly scurried to Chen Yin’s side, rubbing his shoulders and massaging his legs, all the while grinning fawningly.

“With so much wine, there’s no way you can finish it all by yourself, right?”

“Since they’re already open, it’d be such a waste to let them go bad. So how about you just let your master—”

“You want to drink?” Chen Yin cracked one eye open, glancing at her smugly. “The aroma got to you, didn’t it?”

She nodded eagerly—then quickly shook her head in denial.

“N-No, no! I’m just… concerned about food waste, that’s all. Hehehe.”

Seeing the little wine addict’s eyes flashing green with desire, Chen Yin waved his hand again, making all the bottles vanish from the table.

“Waaaah! My wine!”

Their master nearly burst into tears, turning to stare at Chen Yin with a pitiful, grievance-filled gaze.

“If you want to drink, you can.”

Chen Yin said leisurely, “I might be going out for a couple of days. If, by the time I return, your injuries have mostly healed, then you can drink as much of that wine as you want. No limits.”

Yu Ling’s eyes sparkled with excitement, looking just short of turning into a little dog wagging its tail frantically.

“Of course, if I come back and find that you haven’t been taking care of your injuries and don’t care about your own health…”

Chen Yin threatened viciously, “Not only will you have no wine to drink, but I’ll also confiscate all your private stash of money, so you won’t even be able to buy wine yourself in the future.”

“Damn, you little brat, do you have to be this ruthless?”

Yu Ling retorted fiercely, “Then I curse you! You’ll go out to flirt with a girl, only to find out she’s actually a man! And when you get to bed and take off your pants, you’ll discover that his dick is even bigger than yours!”

“Holy shit! You old hag, how could you be this cruel? Aren’t you afraid of giving me psychological trauma, so bad that you’ll have to rely on cucumbers for the rest of your life?”

“Ha! Joke’s on you. I’ve got plenty of little darlings to keep me company. Who would even care about a bean sprout like you?”

“You damn old hag!”

“You brat!”

<+>

“Xiang’er.”

“Hmm?”

“Tomorrow, I need to go out again. I’ll be back in a couple of days.”

Yu Xiang paused in the middle of tidying up the room.

“Senior Brother… you’re not going out to fool around again, are you?”

“Of course not.” Chen Yin let out an awkward chuckle. “Just some unfinished business to take care of.”

“Be good and wait for me at home. I won’t be gone for long.”

Yu Xiang turned around and stared at him with her clear, bright eyes.

“Can’t you take me with you?”

“If you go too, then there’ll be no one to watch over Master. She’ll definitely ignore her injuries and sneak out to indulge in wine and debauchery.”

He gently ruffled her hair, comforting her. “Be good. Listen to me. I’ll be back soon.”

Yu Xiang didn’t say anything, only silently nodded while looking down at her feet.

“… Are you unhappy, Xiang’er?”

“No…”

“Then why aren’t you saying anything?”

“Senior Brother… are you going to see Eldest Senior Sister?”

Chen Yin froze for a moment before scratching his nose awkwardly.

“Uh… Well, that’s not my main reason for going, but I will probably pass by Misty Spirit Sect on the way. Just to check on things. Otherwise, I won’t feel at ease.”

Yu Xiang’s delicate nose twitched slightly, and her pouty lips puffed up in dissatisfaction.

“So, it is still about Eldest Senior Sister.”

“Are you jealous, Xiang’er?”

“If I say I am jealous,” Yu Xiang looked at him seriously, “does that mean Senior Brother won’t go see Eldest Senior Sister anymore?”

Chen Yin fell silent.

Yu Xiang seemed to have already expected his reaction. She wasn’t angry, nor did she throw a tantrum. Instead, she quietly walked behind him.

Then, she gently hugged him from behind.

“I don’t want to compare myself to anyone else. That would be so boring.”

“As long as Senior Brother always treats me like his junior sister and dotes on me, that’s enough.”

She whispered softly, “I know I’m greedy. If I could, I’d want Senior Brother to stay on Yushan Mountain with me forever, never leaving.”

“But… I also don’t want Senior Brother to think I’m a selfish person.”

Chen Yin’s eyes flickered for a moment before he suddenly said in a low voice,

“Open your mouth.”

“Huh?”

Before Yu Xiang could react, Chen Yin popped something into her mouth.

She instinctively bit down, and instantly, a sweet and fragrant taste spread across her tongue.

“This is…” Yu Xiang covered her mouth in surprise.

“A candy. Don’t swallow it yet.”

Chen Yin said softly, “Is it good?”

“Mmm… it’s delicious. Sweet and fragrant.”

Yu Xiang chewed on the candy lightly, a look of happiness gradually appearing on her face.

“There’s something even more fun.”

Chen Yin chuckled. “Try blowing air into the candy.”

Yu Xiang looked at him, puzzled, but followed his instructions. The next moment, a pink bubble suddenly puffed out from her lips.

“Mm!”

Her eyes sparkled with surprise and joy, and she tried to say something, but as soon as she opened her mouth, the bubble popped.

“Ah…” She lowered her gaze, looking disappointed.

“This is called bubble gum. It’s a candy that’s both sweet and fun.”

Chen Yin took out a small tin from his pocket and handed it to her. “Xiang’er has always liked little sweets, so consider this a gift from me.”

Yu Xiang’s eyes lit up as she happily accepted the tin, immediately popping another piece into her mouth.

“Mm… This one tastes great too! It’s watermelon-flavored.”

“There are many different flavors. You can try them one by one.”

She suddenly took another piece, put it in her mouth, then looked at Chen Yin with bright, clear eyes.

“Senior Brother, do you know what this candy tastes like?”

“Uh… I don’t know.”

“Then— do you want to try it?”

With her hands clasped behind her back, her cheeks flushed slightly, and her eyes shone with both shyness and anticipation.

Chen Yin hesitated for just a second.

And in the next moment, the young girl’s soft, rosy lips pressed against his.

That was when he finally tasted the candy’s flavor.

Watermelon. Lime.

And the sweet, delicate fragrance of the girl herself.
