Chapter 21: Vacation and Problem looming over

Rhodes Island has arrived in Siesta to enjoy the Obsidian Festival during our vacation. However, I'm aware of a potential problem: the Siesta volcano is likely to erupt while we're here. For now, though, we’re enjoying the beach since it hasn’t happened yet.

The swimsuit I’m wearing is the same one Elegg wears in the uncensored version, where her swimsuit top resembles a glorified gaming console, like a Switch. I even made sure it works, which prompted Mechanist to ask why I designed it that way. I jokingly said it was to tease Doctor into playing with my chest, which made him let out a sigh.

While it's not entirely wrong, I can’t reveal the real reason since Nikke doesn’t exist here. Interestingly, online games do exist, and I remember Closure asking for permission to take a copy of the clothes I made. She struck a deal with some outfit companies, which gives me mixed feelings since all the clothes I design are based on games I played in my past life.

Today, I decided to disguise myself as a long Vulpo because I didn’t want to dry my tail but still wanted one. I managed to transform Orga into a human, similar to Mon3tr in the future. Perhaps it's because I created her or due to my blood, but Orga turned out to be a female Sankta.

Her Sankta wings and halo are black, and her hair is red with a hint of blue, which gives me a complicated feeling. However, she can still use her large wings and revert to her previous form. Plus, she’s upgraded her abilities, and her speech has improved significantly; she no longer sounds like a child.

I wanted to play a prank, so I made her call Doctor "father." This prompted some of the girls to react and attack Doctor, but surprisingly, some who I thought would join in, like Angelina, just watched silently. I also noticed Ptilopsis observing from a distance.

It’s surprising to see Ptilopsis, given that she’s essentially a robot due to device #9. Now that I think about it, maybe I can heal her since the effects of Oripathy are still present. However, I need to prepare for the volcano situation, so that will have to wait until after this event.

As I walked toward Doctor, Orga noticed me and ran over with a huge smile on her face.

“Mama.”

“MAMA?!”

Everyone shouted, drawing the attention of the crowd. I noticed some of the boys staring at my chest and lower body since this swimsuit is quite revealing. This is what they meant when they said girls can notice a boy's gaze. I particularly observed Amiya approaching, exuding an unusual dark aura.

"Orisa, can you explain this?"

"Calm down, Amiya. This is Orga, my pet. Recently, I managed to make him human-like, but I never realized he was a she and a Sankta as well."

"Oh, so it was Orga. But why does she call Doctor 'Papa'?"

"It was a bit of a prank. But to think of how many love Doctor warms my heart."

"I see."

Suddenly, she grabbed my shoulder, which surprised me since she is shorter than I am. Even more surprising was the strength of her grip; it felt like my shoulder would break. What was even scarier was the emptiness in her eyes, making me wonder if Amiya had turned into a yandere.

I decided to boost my courage and gently patted her head as I released her hand.

"Geez, Amiya, I understand you're angry, but any more pressure and my shoulder will break."

"Huh? What am I doing?"

It seemed she was in one of her episodes again. She really needs some therapy, but I have no idea how to help her with that. Still, at least we can have fun now.

I take that back; almost every sport is rather dangerous. It's reminiscent of that one scene from a servant playing beach volleyball, where every shot is essentially deadly for normal people. I mean it because Doctor was in danger, and we had to evacuate him to prevent further harm.

At least we were having fun, despite the many chaotic moments that left me speechless, like racing on the beach and swimming. I still hope they tone it down a bit since I'm healing again. Thankfully, there are other medics around, so the load isn't too bad.

Then I saw Doctor picking up his phone, which probably signaled that my vacation was almost over. It was likely a call from Provence, Skyfire, or Ceylon, meaning we were heading back to the city quietly, as Doctor wanted the others to enjoy their vacation. I noticed this because I helped him sneak away, but I felt like Amiya would scold us.

We met the trio in the city, where they informed Doctor about the Siesta situation. Suddenly, Doctor received a call from Eyjafjalla, who gave an even more detailed explanation about the possibility of an eruption, causing the group's expressions to turn grim.

We headed toward the city hall to inform Cronin, the acting temporary mayor, since Ceylon's father was not present. Just as I expected from the game, he didn't hear a word of what Ceylon said and even threatened to arrest us. But before he could act, Doctor signaled us to escape, so I carried both Doctor and Ceylon while the rest helped us flee.

"I hope you can carry me more gently."

"It's okay, Ceylon; you'll get used to it."

"You can say that if you can keep up with our speed."

I thought Skyfire was a bit slow, but with Provence carrying her, we were moving quite fast. Suddenly, I dodged as an arrow whizzed by the spot where I had been running, signaling that Schwarz was here, which made the situation even more troublesome.

I slowly summoned my weapon, shooting at Schwarz with my scar while sending a floating sword to the security guard following us. However, the increasing number of guards was becoming a concern, and I contemplated using my ice powers. Just then, Hellagur appeared with Patriot, which felt strange since Patriot was not in his armor.

Fortunately, we managed to subdue both the security guard and Schwarz, highlighting the experience gap between Schwarz and both Patriot and Hellagur. At least I could take a breather while Ceylon tried to persuade Schwarz to join our cause.

She managed to convince Schwarz rather easily, but while I was waiting, Ilfrit showed up and demanded that I return Diablo. I simply replied that he would come back if she was strong enough to withstand his power, which silenced her.

We slowly made our way back to base, where Doctor and the others were planning how to spread the news while simultaneously capturing Cronin. In the end, the rest of the group would accompany Ceylon, while Vigna and I would go with Doctor to capture Cronin.

Initially, Vigna asked Thorns for help, but he declined, saying he didn’t need to be involved in this operation when he looked at me. I understood, so the three of us decided to go out at night for easier sneaking, and the group agreed. We waited for nightfall.

Ceylon's job should be easier now that Schwarz wouldn't block her path, especially with Hellagur and Patriot watching over her at my request. I felt like they had agreed too easily, which made me suspicious. Once we managed to sneak inside City Hall, we encountered Ceylon's father, Herman Doykos.

Herman revealed everything Cronin had done and proceeded to fire him on the spot, which sent Cronin into a rage. I stepped in front of the group as he ranted that all our efforts were useless and that it was too late, surprising everyone—though I already knew this.

Suddenly, a massive bang and earthquake shook the ground, signaling that the volcano might be about to erupt. Chaos erupted as Ceylon's voice was heard, indicating they had managed to broadcast an emergency alert.

While Cronin laughed and claimed he had been planning this destruction of the city out of vengeance, I silenced him with a jab, and a security guard arrested him. As we walked outside, we met Ceylon and the others.

Skyfire and Provence planned to head to the volcano, and Ceylon intended to accompany them. Initially, Schwarz, the Doctor, and Herman rejected this plan, but I interrupted and offered to join them as well. Although they hesitated, once I demonstrated a bit of my ice power, they finally agreed.

Patriot and Hellagur wanted to follow too, but I denied them. Instead, I asked Patriot to take Frostnova along to prepare for the worst. I could easily carry the three of them if necessary, but having more people would make it difficult.

After some discussion, they agreed. I then pulled out several Originium shards and transformed them into a long hover bike, instructing the trio to climb on. At first, Provence was scared, but eventually, she relented as I accelerated to full speed, driving recklessly.

After what felt like an hour, we reached the foot of the volcano and discovered the cause of its impending eruption. To my surprise, the trio realized that Pompei had breached the magma chamber, causing it to grow larger.

As a precaution, I gave each of them a vial of my blood, instructing them to inject it when I called for it. I felt Skyfire might not need it due to her fire resistance, which was close to immunity, but I wanted to be safe. As we ventured deeper, we finally laid eyes on Pompei, which was larger than I

had anticipated—possibly even bigger than Patriot.

We initiated our operation, and I instructed them to inject the vials. I activated my full power and began to freeze the area, although the vicinity around Pompei remained burning hot. To amplify my abilities, I took out an Originium shard and noticed Pompei shrinking as I prepared to take my shot, but Ceylon blocked me.

“Please just let him go.”

“Are you sure? If it’s still alive, there’s a chance the volcano could erupt again while we’re gone.”

“Yes, this is his habitat. I appreciate your help, but please just drive it away.”

With a sigh, I scared Pompei away with a few shots, watching it slither off. However, I remembered that Herman initially intended to make Siesta a nomadic city, so I let Pompei go. Had I not known that, I might have shot it dead.

In the end, the chaos began to settle, and I felt regret for not watching the music show because of it. However, they decided to finish the concert once everything was safe, which seemed fair, making the night quite chaotic.

The next morning, both the Doctor and I were heavily scolded by Amiya, who reminded me of Kal'tsit. I thought about mentioning this comparison, but I feared it would only lead to more scolding, so I listened silently as she expressed her frustration. Eventually, she let out a sigh and thanked us for our efforts to keep the city safe.

Overall, I would say it was an eventful vacation.
