V2: Chapter 86: Why am I the One Being Pushed onto the Bed?
Hiss~
No way, is this girl really crying??
It can't be, she's faking it, faking it for someone else, but, but, but who is she faking it for? There doesn't seem to be anyone around. If she's faking it for someone else, she probably doesn't even know I'll come over, right?
Liang Lin was extremely annoyed, feeling inexplicably anxious. When she was anxious, she liked to touch her neck, scratching it until it was red and raw.
"This girl, really..."
Liang Lin muttered softly.
Although Liang Di would sometimes fake cry for no reason, it was just faking it, and she could only squeeze out a few tears. All bark and no bite, a lot of noise but little rain.
However, this time, looking at her slightly trembling shoulders and that pitiful sobbing, it didn't seem like she was faking it, it didn't seem like she was acting; it seemed like she was really crying.
Ugh~
The thought of a girl crying because of her made Liang Lin's head spin.
Do I really have to go and comfort her?
I'm terrible at comforting people, I'd never done it before…
"Hey, what are you crying about here?"
Although she said she didn't know how to comfort people, her body betrayed her. She walked over and started talking, asking the girl questions and offering inexplicable concern, though her tone didn't sound like genuine concern.
"Waaah, waaah…"
Liang Di heard that familiar voice and stopped crying abruptly. She turned around and saw that familiar figure.
If it were any other time, she would have happily jumped on Liang Lin like a puppy wagging its tail, eagerly asking how she got there, if she missed her, and other cheesy things.
But this time, she didn't.
She merely glanced at Liang Lin silently, a cold look in her eyes that made Liang Lin feel estranged. Liang Lin unconsciously took a half-step back, her brow furrowing.
"Liang Di, what is this...?"
"Sister Liang Lin, please go out first. I want to be alone for a while, it'll be fine soon."
Liang Di's voice was trembling with tears, her voice filled with grievance, choked with sobs, even punctuated by occasional sniffles. Her pitiful appearance was heartbreaking.
Liang Lin felt as if her conscience had been struck a blow, and she nearly coughed up blood, clutching her not-so-large chest.
"No, no, no, I mustn't be bewitched by this person. I haven't done anything wrong. I'm telling the truth. It's her own emotional vulnerability that's the problem."
Liang Lin struggled to suppress the urge to bow her head and apologize.
I absolutely can't apologize. If I give her face today, who knew how much she will cling to me in the future? That will be terrible.
“You,” Liang Lin stammered, forcing herself to continue, “You’re secretly crying here because of what I said earlier, right? You… then stop crying, it’s like I’m bullying you. I didn’t do anything, anyway, well, roughly speaking, anyway, just stop crying!”
“…”
After saying that, Liang Lin fell silent, feeling that her words were incoherent.
However, Liang Di didn’t reply, but continued to lower her head, silently shedding tears, looking like a wronged woman, as if her husband had gone out drinking and then abused her, and now she was sitting on the floor, heartbroken.
What a pitiful, wronged wife!
And Liang Lin, standing beside her, really did resemble that unreasonable, scumbag husband. She put her hands on her hips, then, feeling uncomfortable, crossed her arms and looked down at Liang Di, who was lying on the bed.
"Oh, stop crying. I won't say those things again, okay? Seriously, crying for so long over such a small thing, you really! You're so petty!"
"..."
The only response was endless silence.
"..."
Oh no, is she really angry? And the kind that can't be coaxed?
Liang Lin felt uneasy.
"Sister Liang Lin, don't say that anymore. You can go out now. I'll calm down in a bit."
Liang Di finally spoke up. She couldn't bear to see the uneasy expression on her sister's face; she couldn't bear to see Liang Lin even slightly upset.
What did Liang Di mean?
Is she trying to get rid of me?
Liang Lin started to get angry too.
"I... I already explained to you! I didn't mean that! Oh, I didn't mean that! I just blurted it out, okay? You really are!"
Good grief, she was the one who said the hurtful thing, but now she's the one feeling wronged.
Liang Di felt utterly bewildered.
She was the one crying, so why was the other person suddenly angry? Her already aggrieved heart felt even more so.
"Sister Liang Lin… if… if you really hate me that much, then I… then I… I won't be so proactive, so enthusiastic anymore. I'll keep a comfortable distance from you."
Liang Di said these words, her voice trembling with tears.
To be honest, saying these words now was like farting; it was tinged with anger and sadness that prompted her to say them. Once that emotion subsided, she would still have to eagerly fawn over Liang Lin, like a little lapdog, circling around her.
Liang Di couldn't control herself when she liked someone. She might say nice things, but in the end, she still couldn't help but get closer to them.
"No, no, I… I didn't mean that…"
Liang Lin was both anxious and angry, her two small fists clenched tightly, the veins almost bursting.
Another brief silence followed.
Liang Lin's eyes widened, and finally, she couldn't hold back any longer and exploded.
"Ouch!"
The loud scream startled Liang Di, silencing her cries.
Liang Lin slammed her fist against the wall beside her.
Liang Di jumped up in a panic, immediately checking her sister's hand. But Liang Lin had already shoved her away.
Because of her rage, her strength was immense; Liang Di stumbled back several steps, lost her balance, and fell onto the bed.
Uh...
This situation felt strange. Usually, I was the one throwing Liang Lin onto the bed; how come this time, it was Liang Lin throwing me onto the bed?
Liang Lin's hand was fine, just slightly red, but the wall had a shallow dent from the impact.
Liang Lin gritted her teeth and walked to the bedside, continuing to look down at Liang Di, completely oblivious to how awkward their position and the scene in the room were.
