V2: Chapter 105: Just Kill Them Directly
Inside the back garden.
Liang Di and Liang Lin walked deeper into the garden.
Soon, they saw two familiar figures.
Liang Lin and Liang Di stood a short distance away, watching the two figures.
Sunlight, like fine threads, spilled into the back garden of the manor, making everything appear so peaceful and harmonious. This manor was the ancestral home of the Langwendi family, every corner exuding an aura of history.
Miranda wore an elegant dress, graceful yet dignified. Edwin, on the other hand, was dressed in a refined men's suit, his face beaming with an innocent and carefree smile.
"Tsk, such an innocent and romantic smile, why does it look so strange on his face?" Liang Lin whispered in Liang Di's ear.
"Yeah, it is quite strange," Liang Di nodded, stroking her chin, "Logically, he should be showing that foolish look in his eyes."
"Hmm…!" Liang Lin nodded vigorously, indicating her complete agreement.
Mother and son strolled hand in hand along the garden path. Roses, wild roses, lilies, and other flowers bloomed in profusion on either side, releasing their enchanting fragrance. Edwin curiously observed the beautiful blossoms, pausing frequently to admire them closely. Miranda patiently explained the name of each flower to him.
Reaching a wide, open lawn, Edwin suddenly broke free from his mother's hand and ran joyfully across the grass. He was like a happy little bird, soaring freely under the blue sky and white clouds. Miranda watched her son's joyful figure, a contented smile on her face. She gently sat down, leaning against a sycamore tree, quietly appreciating the beautiful scene.
Liang Di, holding Liang Lin's hand, took a few more steps forward, getting closer to the two.
Liang Di closed her eyes, focusing her senses.
"No need to look anymore," Liang Di opened her eyes, making her judgment. "They're fake. I can already sense their presence."
"Then..." Liang Lin wanted to ask how to resolve this.
But before she could finish speaking, Liang Di drew her sword from her waist and walked expressionlessly towards Miranda and Edwin.
"Huh?"
Liang Lin was stunned for a second, then immediately followed closely behind. "No, how can you be so decisive? This confirms it, we can't have killed someone by mistake..."
Liang Di interrupted her.
"Even if it's true, what if it was a mistake?"
Liang Lin paused, tilted her head to think, then suddenly grinned, her eyes narrowing into slits, looking somewhat eerie. The two had reached a consensus on this matter.
"You're right. People like that should have died long ago. Even if it was a mistake, it doesn't matter. Your mother's killer, of course, is someone you should deal with yourself. Do whatever it takes to get revenge." Liang Lin cheerfully followed behind her.
Miranda and Edwin, with their backs to them, were completely unaware of the two approaching.
It wasn't until Liang Lin and Liang Di were right behind them that the two noticed.
Miranda reacted first, turning sharply to look at Liang Di, who was in the lead. However, she didn't look down, nor did she see the sword Liang Di had hidden behind her back.
"What's wrong?" Miranda's attitude was unfriendly, just like usual. "Miss Liang Di, why aren't you doing your own thing? What are you doing here?"
Uncertain, just like her usual attitude.
This familiar reaction startled Liang Lin again. She leaned close to Liang Di's ear and whispered, "Is this really a fake? Why does that tone sound so familiar?"
Liang Di raised an eyebrow. "Whether it's fake or not, take a closer look."
Liang Lin narrowed her eyes, stroked her chin, and leaned closer to Miranda.
Miranda noticed Liang Lin approaching and immediately distanced herself, looking at her with disgust as if she were a plague or a rat. She even opened her folding fan and fanned herself a couple of times.
“What are you doing? Liang Lin, I think you're becoming more and more ill-mannered. Before, you at least acted like a young lady, but now, following Liang Di around, you're just like those commoners, without any manners.”
“Oh?”
Liang Lin was extremely surprised. She nudged the tentacle-like woman beside her with her elbow, but her eyes were fixed on Miranda, unmoving.
“Liang Di, you know what, you really have to admit, this mannequin is incredibly realistic! Look at the skin,” Liang Lin said, pinching Miranda’s arm. “It’s so white and smooth, almost like human skin. You can’t tell it’s fake at all!”
Ignoring the shocked expression on Miranda’s face, she continued, “And look at that expression on her face! So vivid, so fluid, so smooth, exactly like a real person. If you hadn’t told me, I would never have guessed it was a dummy.”
Normally, Liang Di would have joked and laughed with Liang Lin, but the situation was urgent, and she didn’t have time to play around with her sister.
“Yes, that’s how magic works.”
After saying this, Liang Di raised the sword in her hand.
“Miranda, I’ve wanted to kill you for a long time,” Liang Di said, her eyes devoid of emotion as she looked at the woman before her. “But it's the real you, not the one who’s a dummy.”
Miranda stared wide-eyed in shock.
“Pfft!”
The longsword pierced Miranda’s throat. Instantly, blood splattered everywhere, landing on Liang Di’s clothes, face, and even Liang Lin, standing beside her, wasn’t spared, getting some blood on her face as well.
Liang Lin frowned, raising her hand to wipe the blood from her face with disgust. “Is this really a dummy? Why are there bloodstains? It’s all over me, so disgusting.”
Liang Lin spoke, her expression one of utter disgust, forcefully slapping her blood-stained clothes.
Her standards were certainly different from others.
“Pfft.”
Liang Di pulled the sword from Miranda’s body.
“This is a dummy.” Liang Di pointed her sword at the woman lying on the ground. “Look, her body is starting to change. She’ll soon revert to her original form, and the blood on our bodies will disappear.”
“You…!”
Just as Liang Lin was examining Miranda’s corpse, a heart-wrenching scream suddenly erupted, echoing throughout the back garden.
“You killed my mother! Liang Lin! Liang Di! I’m going to tell Grandpa!”
Edwin cried out, stumbling over and throwing himself onto Miranda’s body, shouting, “Mom! Mom! It’s me! It’s Edwin! Get up and look at me! Mom! Mom!”
As he cried, he turned back and cursed Liang Lin and Liang Di, “You two will die a horrible death! I am the heir to Langwendi! After I inherit Langwendi’s mantle, you two will both die! Both! Will! Die!”
Liang Lin stared blankly.
“Look.”
She pointed with her thumb at the little boy in front of her and said to the tentacle-wielding woman beside her, “What about this fake thing? Kill him already, he’s too noisy. I must say, he’s quite convincing, capturing his most obnoxious side perfectly. This one’s even more convincing than Miranda.”
Liang Di frowned, squatted down, and stared at the little boy.
“Waaaaaah… You all deserve to die a horrible death! I’m going to tell Donald, I’m going to tell Grandpa Donald, and have him arrest you all! I’ll make you pay with your lives!”
“Mommy! Mommy! Why is your body so stiff? You? Why did you turn this color? Why do you look like licorice? Mommy, Mommy, Mommy. Don’t do this, I’m so scared… Waaaaaah…”
Edwin cried incessantly, and Liang Di just kept staring at him until Miranda’s corpse fully revealed its true form.
She stood up.
Liang Lin blinked twice and handed over the sword.
"You know what, the blood on the sword has all disappeared, and my face and clothes aren't so sticky anymore. It's like all the blood is gone! It's pretty amazing."
After saying this, Liang Lin glanced at Edwin, who was clinging to the Miranda straw man, and asked, "What about this one? Let's deal with this fake Edwin quickly. After we're done, we can deal with other things. Isn't there anything else to take care of?"
"There are just too many things to take care of. We have to wait for Prescott to arrive," Liang Di said, staring intently at Edwin in front of her. "But this child, he's not fake, he's real."
