V2: Chapter 122: You're Killing Me!

Liang Lin was silent for a while.

She suddenly began to think about her relationship with Liang Di.

Liang Di was a young lady she had once been attracted to, her stepsister, and also the mother of her daughter. The entanglement between them was something that could never be untied.

However, Liang Di had also done many things to hurt her. And she, in turn, had done things that hurt Liang Di. Liang Di imprisoned her, forced her, and did many terrible things and used countless methods to keep her by her side. She, in turn, forgot her promises and said many hurtful things to Liang Di.

Is there really any possibility of reconciliation between them?

The hatred in her heart…

But she still couldn't forgive the things the other had done to her.

When Liang Lin recalled the time she was imprisoned in the basement, she couldn't help but want to pull her hand away from Liang Di's embrace. That feeling of losing freedom was truly terrifying.

Although she found physical pleasure in that kind of thing, it was also against her will. Therefore, a haze settled over her heart; it was a barrier.

“Sister Liang Lin?”

Liang Di noticed the other woman's gaze was unfocused, as if she were lost in thought. She gently shook the other woman's arm twice.

“Hmm?”

Liang Lin snapped out of her reverie, looked down at her arm that the other woman was holding, hesitated for a moment, and then pulled her hand away.

Used to being shaken off, Liang Di had no shame. She didn't try to hug the other woman's arm again, but instead sat shoulder to shoulder with Liang Lin, pressed tightly together.

This seem quite nice, well, it is fine no matter what. Being in contact with Sister Liang Lin me me feel happy.

“I told you, Sister Liang Lin, I won't give up.” Liang Di tilted her head, resting it on the other woman's shoulder, looking serene and content.

Liang Lin fell silent again.

How should I put it?

Liang Lin pondered for a long time.

If Liang Di disappeared from my life, would I truly be happy?

What would life be like without Liang Di…?

Every day was quiet. No one would rush into her arms to cuddle, no one would hold Carol quietly while she was busy, and no one would stay up all night designing a dress for her.

Actually, Liang Lin could see everything Liang Di did for her, but she didn't want to think about it. If she did, her heart would waver, and she would waver in her desire to accept Liang Di, which would clash with the barrier in her heart.

Liang Lin struggled, especially struggled.

“Sister Liang Lin?”

Liang Di called her softly again.

“Hmm…”

Liang Lin looked at Liang Di, at Liang Di's cute little face, and the harsh words that were on the tip of her tongue just wouldn't come out. So, her heart was soft after all… Just one look was enough to make her unable to utter a harsh word.

“You said you wouldn’t give up?” Liang Lin asked.

Liang Di nodded vigorously. “Yes! I won’t give up! Even if… Sister Liang Lin will never like me, never be with me, I’ll still stay by your side forever. So… I’ll be your younger sister then! Anyway, even if Sister Liang Lin finds a wife, I’ll… (kill that woman) ruin it all!”

These words sounded somewhat naive, and coupled with Liang Di’s big, watery eyes, they sounded incredibly childish, incredibly cute.

“Pfft~”

Liang Lin actually laughed out loud. She raised her hand and ruffled Liang Di’s hair haphazardly.

Liang Di’s eyes slowly widened, a light shining in them—a light of hope. This was the first time Liang Lin had ever ruffled Liang Di’s hair so gently, like she was coaxing a sweet child.

"It all depends on your performance."

Liang Lin left with this meaningful remark, withdrew her hand, and then turned and went upstairs with a flourish.

Behind this seemingly nonchalant demeanor was a slightly flushed cheek. If Liang Di had looked closely at Liang Lin's back, she would have seen her ears, which were already bright red. Unfortunately, Liang Di was currently immersed in the joy of Liang Lin rubbing her head and hearing that indistinct sentence.

"Ah..."

"Sister Liang Lin touched my head! Touched my head!" Liang Di jumped up high, grabbing Bellica who was passing by, excitedly sharing her joy, "Bellica! You know what? Sister Liang Lin just touched my head, so gently, so gently! I, I..."

Bellica looked bewildered, but after hearing what the other said, she smiled knowingly.

"Miss Liang Di, congratulations! This means you've finally won Miss Liang Lin's heart, doesn't it?"

Liang Di nodded vigorously, acknowledging the other's words.

"I knew it! As long as I persisted and kept being good to Sister Liang Lin, she would definitely see me! She would definitely see my efforts, my changes, and my love for her!"

Liang Di became increasingly excited as she spoke, even spinning around twice on the spot. Anyone who didn't know better would think she'd won a million-dollar lottery. Of course, Liang Di didn't care about millions of dollars; she only loved Liang Lin.

"And you know what? Sister Liang Lin even told me it would depend on my performance! That means she wants me to continue pursuing her!"

Liang Di was beaming, acting as if she had already captured Liang Lin's heart, even though it was supposed to be a trial period.

"I knew it! Sister Liang Lin likes me too, she loves me too!"

Lost in her joy, Liang Di finally couldn't contain her excitement and collapsed onto the sofa, arms crossed over her chest, a peaceful and happy smile on her face.

Ah…

I wish I could die peacefully right now, so that this moment of happiness would be eternal.

Meanwhile.

Liang Lin returned to her room.

As soon as she got back, she threw herself onto the bed and buried her face in the pillow.

It would be a lie to say she had no feelings for Liang Di. Having a girl who matched her aesthetic, was cute, and only kind to her pursue her—who wouldn't be moved?

If it weren't for what happened before, we probably would have been together long ago.

That's what Liang Lin thought.

“Mama!”

Carol grabbed her exposed fingers.

“Mama, play with me, play with Carol!”

“Carol is hungry, wants something delicious!”

Carol was making a fuss.

But Liang Lin only slightly raised her head, revealing her eyes, her nose and mouth still buried in the pillow.

She quietly watched her daughter for a while.

Carol is looking more and more like her two mothers, basically inheriting all their facial features. Combined with her baby fat, she's becoming more and more adorable.

Liang Lin couldn't resist reaching out and pinching her daughter's cheek; it was so bouncy and cute.

"Carol, tell me, do you like your Mommy (Liang Di)?"

Carol answered almost without hesitation, "Yes!"

Liang Lin thought for a moment, then asked, "And do you like me? Do you like your Mama (Liang Lin)?"

"Yes!" Carol shouted loudly, reaching out her chubby little hands to hug Liang Lin's neck, pressing her small body against her. "I love Mama the most!"

Oh my, my daughter is so cute!

Liang Lin hugged Carol tightly. "So, do you want Mama, Mommy, and you, the three of us... oh wait, not exactly the three of us, um... whatever, it's just the three of us, the three of us living together forever?"

"Yes!"

"I love Mama, I love Mommy!" Carol hugged Liang Lin's neck tightly.

At this moment, Liang Lin suddenly wanted to ask a very tricky, very difficult question.

"Carol, tell me," Liang Lin patted her daughter's back, "do you like Mama more, or Mommy? Is Mama better to you, or Mommy? If you had to live with only one mother, would you rather live with Mama, or with Mommy?"

The room suddenly fell silent. Carol suddenly stopped crying, her lips pressed into a thin line.

This wasn't an expression a three-year-old should have on her face. This was probably the first time Liang Lin had seen despair, fear, and even swearing on the face of a three-year-old.

Carol: "....." Damn it.

This is really going to be the death of her. She can barely speak coherently, and now she has to face this kind of monumental problem.

How is this any different from "If your girlfriend and your mother fall into the water, who should you save first!"
