V2: Chapter 144: Sister, Please Hit Me

Doris's desire for the king's death grew stronger. She felt that if the king hadn't repeatedly allowed Gael to contact Liang Di, her son wouldn't be in this state.

"Mother, what's wrong with me? Am I really poisoned?" Gael couldn't believe it. "I haven't been in contact with anyone, I was careful when I ate, why am I..."

Doris touched Gael's burning forehead, not telling him the truth. Doris still hoped her son knew as little as possible. Perhaps it was self-deception; she felt that the less her son knew, the further he could stay away from this cruel conflict.

But what was the reality?

In reality, Gael had already been drawn into this conflict, even as a half-sacrifice.

"Gael, it's alright, you're better now. Don't worry, I will definitely find out who poisoned you," Doris said gently.

Gael's head throbbed with pain, and he didn't want to ask any more questions. Hearing that they were investigating the culprit, he subconsciously nodded. He trusted his mother; she would definitely help him find the perpetrator.

Doris looked at Gael's face for a moment.

"Gael, you really want to be king, don't you?" she suddenly asked.

Gael's eyes flickered with confusion for a second, then he hummed an "Mmm."

"Alright, since it's your wish, I will definitely help you fulfill it."

Doris felt that her life was ruined, ruined from the day she was born, from the moment she learned about her origins. Therefore, her son's life absolutely could not be ruined, absolutely could not follow in her footsteps.

Inside the Langwendi mansion.

"Liang Di, weren't you so arrogant outside?"

The moment Liang Di's left foot stepped into the house, Liang Lin grabbed her by the collar, pulled her over, and slammed her against the wall.

"Ugh!"

Liang Di coughed twice from the shock.

Liang Lin gritted her teeth, "Fine, you dare call me a cat outside, huh? Still being unreasonable, refusing to let go of me with your legs. I told you, I won't let you off so easily at home."

Liang Di raised her hand and gently placed it on Liang Lin's shoulder, her expression meaningful.

"So, Liang Lin, how exactly will you 'not let me off so easily'?"

Hmm?

There's something more to that, something beyond the surface meaning.

"What are you doing? Trying to be a pervert again?" Liang Lin asked warily, still holding onto Liang Di's collar, but taking a step back to keep her distance.

She scoffed.

"If it weren't for the fact that you're a woman, I would have punched you in the face already! Even if God himself came today, you wouldn't leave this room unscathed!"

Liang Di raised an eyebrow, grinning mischievously. "Oh? Is this a new way of flirting? It feels pretty good, although it hurts a bit, but if it's Liang Lin, I'd like it."

Liang Lin: "....."

Damn it, this person is a real pervert, I forgot about that.

"I won't hit you."

The villainous girl rolled her eyes, her face full of disgust. "If I hit you, I'm afraid you'd have your fun."

To be honest, if Liang Lin hadn't said that, Liang Di wouldn't have thought of it that way.

But after hearing her say that, she couldn't help but imagine Liang Lin looking at her with disgust, making her kneel down, and then slapping her.

Finally, her sister would be pinned down on the bed by her. The disgust and stubbornness on her face were Liang Di's stimulant; the more disgusted Liang Lin was now, the harder she would cry later.

Thinking this, Liang Di swallowed hard.

"You! What are you thinking?"

Looking at the other's wolfish eyes, Liang Lin shuddered, inwardly realizing something was wrong. It seemed she had somehow touched a nerve again; this scoundrel was really lustful.

"Nothing, I just think Liang Lin looks so cute when she's angry."

Upon hearing this, Liang Lin completely released the other's collar.

Damn it, what bad luck!

She was clearly angry, but these few words from the other person had completely ruined her mood.

"You're having a meltdown yourself. I'm not talking to you anymore." Liang Lin awkwardly turned around and hurried upstairs.

No, she couldn't talk to her anymore. If they kept talking, they might end up in her room again.

Liang Di wanted to end it there, but Liang Lin's disgusted look and those words from earlier were deeply etched in her mind, constantly replaying in her thoughts.

So, for the next few hours, Liang Di would frequently peek over to Liang Lin and ask, "Sister, seriously, do you want to try hitting me?"

Liang Lin: "....."

Damn it, I shouldn't have provoked her.

"You pervert, go be a pervert with someone else! Don't involve me!" Liang Lin yelled, quickly moving to another spot.

"Sigh," Liang Di sighed, muttering under her breath, "It was my sister who brought this up, and now she's all shy."

She'd never been hit by her sister before. Just imagining Liang Lin's soft little hand slapping her face hard—it would definitely be something special. Liang Di blushed at the thought.

This girl, she really is a combination of sadist and masochist.

This farce lasted for two days until Liang Lin came to ask Liang Di about serious matters, at which point Liang Di became unusually serious for a moment.

"Liang Di, there's still no news from the palace about Gael's poisoning. Did you fail to administer the poison?"

Liang Di's smile vanished.

She shook her head.

"Sister Liang Lin, news of Gael's poisoning won't spread. Besides, the King won't know. Only Doris knows."

Liang Di explained directly to Liang Lin without her having to ask.

“Even if Doris tells the King, he won't believe I did it. And even if he does, he won't find anything when he investigates. Besides, he won't believe a woman's words; he might even think Doris is challenging his authority. Doris is so smart, she understands these things, she won't tell him.”

“I poisoned Gael to show Doris. Doris knows she can't eliminate me right now, so she'll definitely start to have designs on the King. Although the chances of a complete instigation aren't high, just a little bit will be enough.”

Liang Di's eyes gleamed with excitement. “Now, we just need to add a little catalyst…”

She stopped there.

Liang Lin, however, grew anxious and asked, “Tell me, what should we do next?”

“Sister, slap me and I'll tell you.”
