V2: Chapter 162: Poses Guide
This liquid can easily penetrate any substance and cause fatal damage to living organisms. Therefore, any creature that dares to approach the tentacle will instantly vanish before this power.
The appearance of this thing shrouded the entire beach in a deathly silence.
It wasn't Him.
Doris finally felt relieved.
"I am Doris, you sent me, didn't you?"
Doris's attitude was extremely humble. She knelt on one knee, not daring to look the tentacle in the eye.
A hoarse and viscous voice came.
"Doris..."
"I remember you, you are His child."
"That Lord's..."
The pronunciation was somewhat unclear; Doris only heard a few words.
However, she still bowed her head respectfully.
"Could you come with me?"
"I heard about it from them."
"Doris, you're doing this for our future..."
A hint of guilt flashed in Doris's eyes. She didn't dare look up and meet the other being's gaze. "Yes, it's all for our future. This world belongs to us."
"You clearly have an easier way..."
Doris had already figured out how to handle this kind of question.
"But that would attract too much attention. If the people from the Magic Tower found out, I alone, with the other low-level tentacles, might not be able to defeat Octaville... who is now the Tower Master. So, I thought of a more perfect way. If it succeeds, we can push down this wall."
Without waiting for a reply, Doris opened the huge box behind her.
A girl dressed in gorgeous clothes lay quietly inside, looking exactly like the girl in the portrait she had shown the king, even more beautiful than the person in the portrait. Her face was exquisitely beautiful, with a straight nose and soft, supple lips, adorned with a faint smile that seemed to instantly dispel all gloom.
“This is the body I’ve prepared for you. Once you reach the capital, you’ll have a new body.”
A moment of silence followed.
“I don’t like this body. It looks sickly.” The tentacle seemed to sigh helplessly.
“Once you reach the capital, you’ll have a new body, and one of extremely high status. You know, the king’s body is naturally incomparably noble.”
Doris reassured her, but the glint in her eyes couldn’t be concealed.
“Alright, Doris, you are His child. I’ll help you this time. It’s all for our future, for His future.”
With that, a tentacle wrapped around the girl’s body, one tendril connecting to her temple, while the other burrowed straight into her ear.
Before disappearing, the tentacle asked Doris, "Now that you're back, won't you go see Him?"
A flicker of fear crossed Doris's eyes. She buried her head deep in her shell, like an ostrich.
"I haven't completed the task He gave me. I have no face to see him. I'll go see Him after I've completed the task."
In reality, she was afraid to see him; in reality, she was terrified.
The enormous tentacle vanished, and the girl in the box slowly sat up. She raised her small, adorable hand and waved it a few times.
"Ah… it's been so long since I've been in contact with a human body. It feels so strange."
Doris remained kneeling on one knee.
"Get up, Doris."
"Yes, my lady."
Doris stood up. "My lady, after you and I go to the capital, you must tell the King that you are my sister, and your name is Philippa Macpherson."
"Understood."
Philippa stood up, stepped out of the box, and stood on the beach.
“Let’s go, Doris.”
The two figures disappeared onto the beach, and the mist finally dissipated. Once they reached the city walls, Doris finally breathed a sigh of relief. As long as she hadn’t seen that one person, everything was fine.
Meanwhile, inside the Magic Tower by the sea, the people slowly awoke shortly after Philippa and Doris left.
“What just happened?!”
The two traitors, too, slumped onto the table, mimicking the others, clutching their heads as if in excruciating pain.
One of them feigned ignorance, saying, “I don’t know, what just happened?”
“Why did we suddenly fall asleep?”
“No, we didn’t fall asleep, we’re trapped in an illusion.”
“That’s definitely not a dream, it’s an illusion.”
“Tentacles!”
“A monster is approaching! Warning! Warning!”
The magicians instantly panicked, grabbing their wands, some grabbing spellbooks, others clutching several bottles of potions. Everyone cautiously looked around. Several magicians went to the window and looked out at the sea.
There was no fog at the beach, which meant no tentacles had appeared.
"Something's not right..."
"No monsters seem to have approached here. What happened just now?"
"Something's wrong, something's wrong, this is all too wrong."
"Report to the Tower Master immediately!!"
A magician immediately drew a teleportation circle on the ground, and one of the traitors, to avoid suspicion, pretended to join in.
Meanwhile.
Liang Di felt that Doris's side had been eerily quiet lately, definitely a prelude to a storm. If she wasn't causing trouble, she was definitely plotting something bigger. But she couldn't guess what she was planning.
Liang Lin sat in the seat next to her, reading a book and drinking red tea.
“Carol’s been getting increasingly rowdy lately, asking about everything, and I don’t know where she found that book, it’s one of those…” Liang Lin blushed slightly, “Ahem, really, whose book is that? Carol picked it up, and then she showed it to me, asking what the people in it were doing.”
“What book?” Liang Di asked.
Liang Lin pulled the book out of her arms and threw it on the table, her expression extremely unnatural.
“You’ll see for yourself, anyway, it’s not something someone her age should be reading.”
Liang Lin thought Liang Di would also blush after reading it. However, Liang Di glanced at it, her face instantly turning pale, and she quickly closed the book.
Liang Lin found the other’s reaction very strange.
“This..... did you see some terrible position?”
Yes, it was a book about “positions.”
“Ah, haha… I just feel that letting Carol see this book is my dereliction of duty as a mother, my heart aches.”
Liang Di’s expression returned to normal.
That’s right, this book was the one Carol had found on her bookshelf.
Liang Di knew that if Liang Lin found out that the book belonged to her, she would be "cracked down".
