V3: Chapter 22: My Sister's Daughter is Marrying My Daughter?

Liang Di settled into a routine of restful pregnancy.

"If only I were only four months pregnant, nine months is just too long."

Now in her fourth month, Liang Di's belly was round and starting to take shape. So, she tried to minimize going out and avoid public appearances, telling everyone she was sick and needed to rest at home.

During this time, Liang Lin wasn't as willful or sharp-tongued as before. Having been pregnant herself, she understood how uncomfortable pregnancy could be. However, Liang Di didn't seem to be suffering that much, except for occasional nausea, loss of appetite, and backaches.

But occasional nausea and vomiting were enough. It was quite bothersome; Liang Di often couldn't eat and had lost a lot of weight. However, she quite liked this period because Liang Lin had become much gentler and more patient than before, occasionally being more direct and less arrogant.

"I wish I could stay pregnant forever."

That's what Liang Di said.

Carol felt a little strange after hearing this.

"Is pregnancy a very interesting thing? Mommy, why do you want to stay pregnant forever?"

Before Liang Di could speak, Liang Lin took over the conversation.

"No, pregnancy is a very painful thing. As for children, you can have them if you want, or you can choose not to if you don't want to. Carol, if you don't want children in the future, your mothers won't force you."

"Oh..."

Carol nodded thoughtfully.

"Then if it's painful, I don't want my future wife to have children. I don't want my wife to suffer."

Wife?

Hmm...

That's not impossible.

"Carol, you like girls?"

Liang Lin was a little surprised, but not that surprised. After all, she and Liang Di were both girls, living together and sleeping together. Carol has always lived in an environment where two girls are dating, so her sexual orientation is definitely female.

"Yeah, I mean, if I don't like girls, what else could I like? Boys, no way! I want to be like Mama and Mommy, marrying a really, really beautiful wife!"

Hmm…

That's not impossible.

"Okay, okay, but you're still young. Let's talk about marriage when you grow up."

Liang Lin casually coaxed Carol.

Liang Di, however, became interested. She leaned back in her chair and leisurely asked, "Daughter, do you have a type you like right now? What kind of lady do you like? Maybe when you grow up, Mommy can introduce you to someone."

She seemed to enjoy watching the drama unfold.

Almost without thinking, Carol blurted out, "I like girls like Alice!"

"Pfft!"

Liang Lin nearly spat out her tea. Thinking she'd misheard, she wiped the tea from her mouth with a handkerchief and slowly turned to look at Carol.

"Who do you like? Who do you like like?"

Carol's response was still very straightforward.

"I like girls like Alice."

Neither Liang Lin nor Liang Di spoke, and an eerie silence fell over the room.

Seeing that her two mothers didn't speak, Carol continued, "What's wrong with liking girls like Alice? Alice is gentle, beautiful, and incredibly kind to me. I just like girls like that."

"Uh..."

After a long while, Liang Di finally spoke, her tone hesitant. "So, daughter, there's no way you two could marry! Even if you're not blood sisters, but...but...but..."

But she couldn't quite put her finger on it.

Carol, however, didn't seem to care. Her childish face was filled with determination.

"But, Mommy, you and Mama are sisters too! Your relationship is that of older sister and younger sister, even if you're not blood sisters, you are sisters in name only!"

Uh...

This point is truly undeniable.

"But, you're right, but... but I'm not related to your Mama by blood."

Liang Di's explanation seemed rather weak at this moment.

Liang Lin stood silently to the side, her face full of worry, unsure how to explain this to Carol.

Carol simply shrugged.

“That’s right, I’m not related to Alice by blood either. I’ve heard that Mama, this body of yours isn’t related to Aunt Hilary by blood either. And Mommy, you’re not related to Aunt Octaville either; she just adopted you. So, we can conclude that I'm not related to Alice by blood either.”

*(Liang Lin body's basically a stranger who have Hilary's brother soul)

You know what, you’re really quick-witted.

“Hmm…”

Liang Di was persuaded. She looked at Liang Lin sitting beside her.

“Sister Liang Lin, I feel like what our daughter said actually makes some sense.”

Liang Lin: “.....”

This girl’s stance isn’t firm enough!

She had to say it herself.

"You're right, this body of mine has no relation to Hilary, but I am essentially Hilary's biological brother... uh, sister. Even if we have different blood, but, but, but... eh?"

Liang Lin stammered.

Damn, she seems to have gotten herself into a mess, seemingly indirectly agreeing with Carol's statement.

"Yeah, that's right, Mama, that's what I meant. Since there's no blood relation, everything's easy."

Liang Lin: "....."

Damn it.

I'm not as smart as my daughter.

It seems there's no way to change her mind now.

So...

"Liang Di, you need to think of something quickly! Carol being with Alice in the future... it just seems so strange, doesn't it?"

Liang Lin kept muttering to herself.

"The thought of my sister's daughter marrying my daughter makes me feel like this world is just too damn surreal. No, this absolutely can't happen."

But Liang Di didn't know what to say.

"Sister Liang Lin, I think... since there's no blood relation, let her be..."

Liang Di stammered, her voice weak, as she reached out and tugged at Liang Lin's sleeve.

"Besides, Carol is still so young. At such a young age, what does she know about love? Maybe she'll mistake friendship, or love for her sister, or love for family for romantic love."

"Maybe when she grows up, she'll fall for another girl. It's all uncertain. Oh dear, children just talk about love for fun. You don't need to worry so much, Sister."

Author's Note

You sure about that, Liang Di? The real example of those sentences already exist in the form of yourself, you know?
