V3: Chapter 24: Mutation
The tentacles slowly rose, gradually getting on track.
"Mmm~"
"Sister Liang Lin's voice is as beautiful as ever, unchanged from before, still so alluring."
Liang Di smiled, raising her hand to gently stroke Liang Lin's cheek.
"No, don't look at me, don't move it so much, damn it."
Liang Lin gritted her teeth, stubbornly turning her head away, unwilling to let others see her blushing cheeks.
But this feeling, she really couldn't help but blush and cry out.
Liang Lin bit her lower lip, trying hard not to make a sound.
"No, no, not there, not there!"
Liang Di was as fierce as ever, no, it should be said that Liang Di's tentacles were as fierce as ever.
Soon, a chaotic scene unfolded, the battlefield a mess, with all sorts of things scattered about.
The two women were deeply in love here, but far from the capital, in a remote mountain village, something was happening.
It was a remote mountain village within the Soteland Empire, shrouded in mist year-round, where sunlight rarely pierced the clouds. The villagers lived simple and peaceful lives, subsisting on farming and hunting.
However, on this day, tragedy struck.
The village chief's daughter-in-law, Eileen, was a hardworking and virtuous woman.
She had long, jet-black hair, bright, expressive eyes, and always wore a smile.
Two days ago, she suddenly disappeared. The village chief and his family were frantic, and the entire village mobilized to search for her. But even with so many people searching, they couldn't find any trace of her.
Two days later, Eileen miraculously returned, but the villagers quickly noticed that she had become strange and unfamiliar.
After returning, Eileen always hid alone in her room, emitting chilling laughter. She stopped doing housework and stopped talking to the villagers, only occasionally appearing in the village with a blank stare and a strange smile on her lips. Her smile was no longer gentle and kind, but filled with sinister and eerie intent.
Privately, everyone was talking about it.
"Is she possessed?"
"She's probably possessed by an evil spirit!"
"I think so too. She's always laughing to herself in her room."
"She's really scary like this. I don't dare go near that room."
"She's been missing for so many days, she must have been possessed by something, a demon! It must be a demon!"
"I think so too. What should we do? Maybe we should go and ask the priest for help."
Finally, the village chief decided to ask a nearby priest to perform an exorcism.
However, after seeing Eileen, the priest looked her over carefully but couldn't discern anything amiss.
"She's perfectly fine. She doesn't seem to have encountered any demons. She's probably just been missing for so many days, frightened by the wolves and tigers outside. She should gradually regain her senses in a while."
The family was finally relieved.
However, Eileen gradually became even more terrifying. She began eating raw meat, constantly spitting out the blood of poultry. After a while, she became dissatisfied with eating only the raw meat after slaughter and started eating poultry raw.
This caused widespread panic among the villagers.
The villagers called for a priest again.
This time, the priest used holy water, a cross, and various other things. Finally, he took the silver coins and left.
Before leaving, he told the villagers to rest assured that the demon had been exorcised.
In reality, he had never seen the true demon.
From then on, Eileen seemed to have truly returned to normal, but she still locked herself in her room and wouldn't come out. But not eating raw meat was a good thing, and the villagers gradually relaxed.
Until…
Eileen's transformation reached its peak.
One night, she suddenly screamed, a piercing and terrifying sound.
The villagers rushed out of their homes, only to see flesh peeling from Eileen's face, a slimy tentacle emerging from her cheek.
The tentacle easily tore apart the villagers' houses, claiming innocent lives one by one.
Screams and cries filled the air; the entire village was plunged into chaos and terror. The village chief and his family tried to escape, but were also brutally murdered by Eileen.
A few brave villagers decided to unite and try to resist Eileen's slaughter.
Armed with farm tools and weapons, they cautiously approached Eileen, but she no longer seemed human, but some kind of terrifying monster. Her tentacles were agile and powerful, easily shattering the villagers' weapons and knocking them to the ground one by one.
"Pfft!"
Blood and flesh flew everywhere.
The battle was exceptionally fierce. Although the villagers fought with all their might, they quickly fell to Eileen's eerie tentacles and frenzied attacks. In despair, they realized that this once peaceful little mountain village had become a living hell. They began to flee in all directions, trying to escape this horrific place.
But not a single one could escape.
The entire village was slaughtered.
This news reached Octaville's ears a week later.
"I thought that with Doris dead, the Soteland Empire would at least be safe for a while. I didn't expect new trouble to arise so quickly."
Octaville sighed.
She was enjoying a wonderful time with Hilary when she heard the news, and immediately ended their date.
“Have Philippa, Gustav, and Walden come with me to investigate that village. It's quite far, and it might take several days to get back, so…”
Octaville looked at Hilary.
Hilary patted her shoulder.
“Don’t worry about me when something like this happens. Just go and get it done. The faster you go, the faster you’ll be back, and then you can keep me company.”
Hilary smiled at her.
“Okay.”
Octaville nodded and put on her coat.
“Let’s go now.”
Two days later, they arrived at their destination.
"My God..."
Gustav's mouth gaped open at the sight before him.
Even after seeing so many dead bodies, even after witnessing so many scenes of tentacled killing, the gruesome scene before him still left him speechless. The knights had cleared away the corpses, but the bloodstains and collapsed houses remained; the whole scene was utterly horrific.
"Were they all killed?" Gustav asked.
"Yes."
Octaville nodded, her brow furrowing.
"This is truly terrifying. I've never seen anything like it before. Before, it was either bewitching people to become His followers, or just killing a family. This is the first time I've seen an entire village slaughtered."
