V3: Chapter 41: The Second Daughter's First Time
"What kind of talk is that?"
Liang Lin smacked Carol's little head hard.
"I carried you for four months before giving birth, you heartless little thing, even questioning whether you're my biological child."
"Oh..."
Carol rubbed her head.
"That was terrifying, how come I didn't die on the battlefield?"
Liang Lin raised her arm, straining, revealing muscles honed through years of training, looking particularly strong.
"How could I let you die? Don't you believe in your Mama's strength? Hehe, you didn't even get hurt. It's precisely because I have this strength that I dared to bring you to the battlefield."
Children are always children. No matter how much they pretend to be little adults, no matter how mature they try to appear, their hearts are still those of children.
Carol's eyes sparkled again as she stared into Liang Lin's eyes.
"Wow~ Mama, you're so amazing!!"
The admiration in her eyes was unmistakable.
Liang Lin thoroughly enjoyed the look her daughter gave her. She became smug, hands on her hips, chin held high. She hadn't felt this proud in a long time. Her daughter's admiration felt different from anyone else's; it made her even prouder and happier.
"Of course, Carol, you'll be even better than me someday."
Liang Lin knelt down and rubbed the spot where she had just tapped Carol.
"My blood flows in your veins. You're my daughter. If you're properly trained, you'll definitely surpass me and become the greatest swordsman in this empire—no, on this continent!"
"Oh—"
Carol's round eyes brightened even more, her mouth slightly agape, filled with anticipation for the future.
"I really want to grow up quickly!"
"Waaah..."
Just then, Philomena, who had unknowingly fallen asleep in Carol's arms, suddenly woke up. She rubbed her eyes and let out a soft whimper.
The two adults and the child immediately looked over.
Philomena's hair, though still only soft baby hair, already showed a faint silvery-white hue, like the most dazzling galaxy in the starry sky, radiating a soft glow. Whenever a breeze blew, those few strands of hair swayed gently, feeling like the most exquisite brushstrokes of nature, adding a touch of angelic holiness to her.
Completely different from Carol.
"Her little face is so chubby~"
Carol touched and poked her.
Philomena's little face was round and full, her features delicate, like a work of art meticulously sculpted by a master.
Her lips were pink and soft, often adorned with a sweet smile that seemed capable of instantly melting away all worries, bringing joy to those around her.
As a noble child, Philomena's attire was naturally the epitome of luxury and exquisite craftsmanship.
She wore a baby dress woven from the softest silk, its delicate texture clinging gently to her tender skin like a second layer.
The dress was a pale milky white, embroidered with delicate patterns; every stitch revealed the superb skill of the noble tailor and their relentless pursuit of beauty.
A gust of wind blew in, and Philomena shivered. Liang Lin quickly went to close the window, worried that the little one might catch a cold.
"Don't catch a cold."
"It's alright, Philomena is wearing a hat."
Liang Di smiled, adjusting her second daughter's little hat.
Yes, Philomena wore a small, adorable hat.
The hat, also made of fine silk, was edged with a band of tiny pearls, each shimmering with a soft light that complemented her crimson eyes, adding to her noble and elegant air. A bow, its color echoing her dress, tied at the top of the hat, created a harmonious and beautiful effect.
A delicate gold chain necklace adorned her neck. A fine pendant hung from the chain, shaped like a small angel about to take flight, symbolizing a free and beautiful life for her.
Philomena's small hands also wore gloves made of soft lambskin, the edges embroidered with exquisite patterns, perfectly complementing her dress and hat.
On her feet were a pair of tiny leather shoes, soft and comfortable, with several sparkling gems inlaid on the surface. Whenever she kicked her leg, the gems shimmered with the changing light, like starlight beneath her feet.
"Making shoes for such a young child?"
Liang Di frowned and took the tiny shoes off Philomena's feet.
"She's too young. She doesn't need shoes. They're uncomfortable, and besides, she can't walk yet, so they're useless—just decorations."
With that, Liang Di handed the shoes to Bellica, who was standing nearby, to take them away.
Perhaps the tiny shoes were truly uncomfortable, Philomena giggled after they were removed, shaking her head happily.
"Eh?! My little sister smiled!"
Carol exclaimed in surprise.
As for why she behaved this way, it was because Philomena was truly a very calm baby, always undisturbed, rarely showing emotion, neither crying nor laughing much. She didn't seem like a child, but rather a mature adult.
"My little sister's smile is so cute. She should smile more; she's perfect for smiling,"
Carol exclaimed, pressing her soft little face against her sister's.
The two soft, cuddly children together looked incredibly adorable and pleasing to the eye.
Philomena's eyes were beautiful, sometimes sparkling with curiosity, sometimes revealing the pure innocence unique to infants. Her eyelashes were long and curled, and when they fluttered gently, they seemed to stir the finest dust in the air.
Her skin was as pink and tender as a newly blossoming cherry blossom, radiating a healthy blush.
"Hehehe~~"
Carol's cheap smile.
The two children seemed to have very different personalities, but that was fine; they both had their own distinct personalities.
“Bellica said it would snow today. My little sister has never seen snow before; this is her first snowfall since she was born. Let’s take her to see the snow and commemorate her first time,”
Carol pleaded with Liang Lin and Liang Di.
Liang Lin and Liang Di exchanged a glance.
To be honest, a family of four going out to see the snow and taking a walk in it does sound very heartwarming and romantic. However, Philomena is still very young and easily catches a cold. Going out in the snow doesn’t seem very good for her health.
