V1: Chapter 67: Next, It's Show Time
Inside the Magic Tower.
"Baby, what are you looking at?"
"Nothing."
Hilary turned around, blocking the magic crystal ball in front of her. Octaville tried to peek, but Hilary grabbed her by the neck. Like a little sloth, Hilary clung to Octaville, pouting and passionately kissing her.
“Baby, darling…”
Even though they were an old married couple, Octaville's ears still turned red.
She swallowed hard, her voice hoarse, “It’s still…daytime, and you’re already this horny?”
“I missed you. I feel so bad if I don’t see you for even a second…” Hilary whispered in Octaville’s ear, hooking her legs around her, her body pressed tightly against her. “Fu, some things… let’s talk about them in bed.”
Octaville, holding Hilary and supporting her bottom, walked away, completely forgetting about the magic crystal ball, her mind only filled with those lewd thoughts.
Hilary’s expression when she looked at the magic crystal ball was clearly worried.
“…Number 627!”
Under the black cloak, no one could see Liang Lin’s expression. Only her indifferent eyes were visible.
Those who entered the arena with her were all men taller than her. Among them were even one or two familiar faces, seemingly noble classmates from her swordsmanship class.
No one held out hope for Liang Lin.
Everyone clutched handfuls of Vitcoins, placing bets.
"Hey!"
"I bet 628, 625, and 62...26!"
"Hey, look at that burly guy, number 631, he's obviously a skilled swordsman!"
"The kid fighting number 631 is doomed!"
Listening to the commotion below, Liang Lin also noticed number 630; he was indeed a strong man. But what did swordsmanship skill have to do with physical strength?
Liang Lin shrugged, indicating she didn't understand these spectators.
Numbers 631 and 632 fought, avoiding Liang Lin.
Number 632 was an ordinary-looking middle-aged man with calloused hands, wearing only a black vest, looking slovenly, with a blade of grass dangling from his mouth, and several scars on his face.
Liang Lin knew at a glance that Number 632 had far more experience than Number 631, and that Number 631 would most likely be defeated by Number 632 in a flash.
However, for Liang Lin, it didn't matter who she fought.
"I bet... Number 627, five silver coins."
The only voice supporting Liang Lin rang out from the stands.
Although Liang Lin didn't hear it, those around the speaker gasped, staring at the speaker as if he were a fool.
It was the tavern owner.
"Hey, brother, you're really rich, five silver coins."
"Hahaha, what a huge loss."
Prescott smiled slightly.
“It’s a sixth sense, I believe 'he' can do it.”
“Hahahaha~”
Laughter erupted around them, and Prescott joined in, smiling without saying a word.
Liang Lin’s opponent was number 628, also a boy, but taller and more imposing than Liang Lin. He was a nobleman’s son, his entire attire radiating extravagance.
He didn’t look at Liang Lin with disdain, but the contempt in his tone was exceptionally clear.
“Tch… I thought I’d meet some interesting opponents.”
Liang Lin remained silent.
Because she completely disregarded her opponent.
With a piercing whistle, the duel began.
The vast swordplay arena resembled a cricket cage, and Liang Lin and the other contestants were like crickets. Hearing the whistle, several contestants shot towards their opponents like arrows, likely hoping to catch them off guard.
And Liang Lin?
Of course, she maintained her haughty strongman demeanor, standing still, waiting for her opponent's attack.
Coincidentally, the noble young master was also waiting for her attack.
So, the two stared at each other for a few seconds.
While the surrounding crowd erupted into fighting, these two continued their battle of wills.
The spectators in the stands were also drawn to the two, and began to whisper among themselves.
"What's going on? Why aren't those two moving?"
Just then, the battle between No. 631 and No. 632 had concluded. No. 631 lay sprawled on the ground, looking disheveled. No. 632, meanwhile, silently spat out the couch grass from his mouth, rummaged in his pocket, pulled out a piece of cheap, yellowish-brown candy, popped it into his mouth, and chewed it like an alpaca.
"Hey, commoner, you go first."
Oh ho, what a superior address!
Although Liang Lin often used this condescending tone to talk about others, she felt uncomfortable when others spoke to her.
Liang Lin maintained her arrogance, raising her chin. "Are you sure? I'm afraid..."
Before she could finish, she was interrupted.
"Stop talking nonsense, I'll let you go first."
Liang Lin took a half step back, her knees slightly bent, gathering her strength.
"Then espectfully..."
"I'll obey!"
The young nobleman felt a gust of wind hit his face, and before he could think, Liang Lin was already in front of him. There was no time to dodge; he could only swing his sword to defend himself.
In a flash, the young nobleman's sword shattered, scattering across the ground. Several cracks also appeared on Liang Lin's sword.
"Tsk."
This broken sword, I have to replace it again.
I'll have to find my sword someday. The other swords are all awkward to use, and the quality is poor (actually, she's been using it too harshly). I have to replace it every few days.
The young master felt a sharp pain in his wrist. He opened his hand and found it was bleeding slightly. He couldn't grip the hilt anymore, and the broken sword fell heavily to the ground with a thud. He stumbled back several steps before barely managing to steady himself, avoiding a fall and a fool of himself.
Alright, now it's my turn to show off.
Liang Lin didn't make any exaggerated movements; she felt that just standing there was cool enough.
So, she once again uttered her incredibly arrogant words.
"It's a pity you didn't let me finish. What I wanted to say was that I'm afraid... I'm afraid that if I attack first, you'll lose before you even have a chance to swing your sword."
Liang Lin shrugged.
"Although that's the reality, it's laid bare before us."
Liang Lin deliberately lowered her voice, not speaking too loudly, afraid someone would recognize her as a woman. Her face flushed red, but thankfully it was completely hidden under her clothes.
