V1: Chapter 6: The Agitated Villainess is So Cute

Are the other young ladies also felt nauseous like me? So pitiful.

Liang Lin didn't hear a word of the flattery that followed Auston; she was just busy feeling nauseous.

Walking deeper into the back garden, Liang Lin saw a creamy-white pavilion entwined with rose vines. Inside, with her back to them, sat a slender woman.

This was likely Queen Doris Somerfeld (who had taken her husband's surname).

Before her defeat and death, Liang Lin had occasionally seen the current Queen and her son, Gael Somerfeld, when attending celebrations at the palace, but only from a distance. From that distance, Prince Gael seemed quite normal; but now, face to face, it was like facing an oil field.

"Alright, daughter," Auston said affectionately, nudging Liang Lin towards Gael. "Her Majesty the Queen and I have something to discuss. You and Prince Gael are about the same age; you should have plenty to talk about. Prince Gael, I entrust Liang Lin to you."

Liang Lin was taken aback.

Gael politely extended his hand to Liang Lin, "Miss Liang Lin, would you like to stroll through this back garden with me?"

Liang Lin: "..."

Well, she knew it. Good things never happen to her. Auston brought her here just to feed her shit; he's trying to set her up with the prince. Dating a man... that's disgusting!

"I'm not really interested."

Liang Lin said expressionlessly to Auston, "Duke Auston, I won't bother you any longer. I'm not feeling well, so I'll go back to the carriage and wait for you."

With that, she didn't even glance at Gael, turned, and hurried away.

Leave? How could she leave?

Liang Lin circled around, then stealthily returned, crouching behind a clump of grass, straining her ears to try and hear what the people inside the pavilion were saying.

Only a fool would leave. Auston and Miranda, those scoundrel, were definitely up to something. She had analyzed it. Judging from the wary look in Auston's eyes when he looked at Liang Di, he must have known all along that Liang Di was a "witch," which was why he came to Queen Doris seeking a solution.

If Doris had a solution… hehehe~

Liang Lin revealed a sinister smile, her little tiger teeth fully exposed, like a little devil, only missing a swaying heart-shaped devil tail.

The useless Auston and Miranda definitely couldn't handle Liang Di; she'd have to end this family's lives herself!

But the distance was too great, and she could only vaguely hear a few words, something like "curse," "should have died," "she's dangerous," and "this should belong to me," leaving Liang Lin completely confused. She couldn't conjure up any coherent explanation.

A curse… could it be that Liang Di was changed by some kind of curse? That's why she could use magic or something? That was too mysterious. Liang Lin had never seen many magicians. After all, no empire allowed magicians to exist, so they lived collectively in a magic tower on the border between the Soteland and Vache Empires, surrounded by a dense, ancient forest.

Many people believed that magicians were just a legend, and the magic tower was merely an ancient structure. The real danger lay in the unknown lands and poisonous thorns of the ancient forest. No one had ever seen a magician, so their existence remained uncertain.

Later, some families would take unwanted children out of the forest and let them wander in, or simply dump their bodies there.

So…

Liang Di had been missing for so long; could she have been dumped there? The phrase “she’s clearly dead” sent a chill down Liang Lin’s spine.

“Hey, sister, are you eavesdropping?”

Suddenly, Liang Lin felt a warm breath behind her ear. She shuddered and quickly turned around, her face almost making intimate contact with the nose of the person behind her. She looked closely and saw it was Liang Di.

What was she doing here?

Wasn't she at home? Didn't Auston say he hadn't informed her to come to the palace?

"You, how come...?"

"I came to see the Third Prince. But sister, what are you doing squatting here?"

Uh... there really was no way to explain this.

"The ones in the pavilion... are Queen Doris and Auston, right?" Liang Di craned her neck and peered into the pavilion, then lowered her head, her pupils taking on a faint green hue. "So, sister, what did you hear?"

Liang Lin felt a pang of fear.

This familiar feeling...! It felt like something bad was about to happen.

"They're too far away, I can't hear them at all, but I guess they're trying to set me up with Prince Gael." Liang Lin calmed herself, staring intently into Liang Di's eyes, but in reality, her palms and forehead were breaking out in a cold sweat.

That strange feeling vanished, replaced by Liang Di's intrigued expression. "Oh~? Auston wants to set you up with Gael?"

Liang Lin nodded vigorously.

"Yes, when I first arrived here today, Auston wanted to get rid of me so Gael and I could develop our relationship more. Isn't that just his way of setting us up?"

"Hmm...you're right~"

Liang Di smiled, sweet and charming.

"Do you like Prince Gael?"

Liang Lin: "?"

Oh no! The nausea she had finally managed to suppress instantly returned the moment she heard the word "like," and remembering Gael's face, Liang Lin's stomach clenched again.

"I, I...!"

Her little face turned red with anger.

But Liang Di mistook it for shyness.

"Ah~ so you..." She wanted to say something more about Gael.

Liang Lin immediately raised her hand, making a 'forbidden' gesture, her words resolute.

"I don't like it, absolutely not. I'd rather like an octopus from the sea than that prince."

Hmm? An octopus from the sea?

Liang Di's brows relaxed, her lips pursed, unable to contain herself. She turned her head away, laughing so hard her whole body trembled. Her own tentacles… seemed no different from an octopus's. Liang Lin's words made it sound like she was offering herself to her.

This rumored wicked woman… actually seems quite cute. Hmm… although her mouth is a bit sharp, isn't it a kind of quick wit? Liang Di laughed enough before turning back, still feeling unsatisfied.

Her sudden laughter left Liang Lin bewildered.

"Gael is the most likely prince to become king, no, it's more like… he definitely can. So… Sister, are you really not going to consider it?" Liang Di continued to tease Liang Lin.

Liang Lin's puffed-up and disgusted expression was so adorable, reminding Liang Di of her old black cat.
