Chapter 15: The result is what i want

Let's just say that my actions accelerated their plan too quickly.

As for why we're already at the Frontier, I was looking at the screen where Maria was asking people to sing with her to receive phonic gain, so Nastassja could prepare the ruin to activate and cancel the moon falling to the ground.

Moreover, Kirika and Shirabe were on top of the ship, panicking about Dr. Ver getting wild. I could see a lot of Noise chasing them, which was giving me a slight headache. Now, Hibiki wants to go to Maria so she can take the Gungnir, which makes sense since she can indeed steal it from Maria.

In the end, Chris, Tsubasa, and Miku are helping Kirika and Shirabe face the Noise. As for Hibiki and me, we were planning to go toward Maria, but Genjuro and Shinji were also planning to capture Dr. Ver. So, we split up, and the plan began.

Now, I was riding my surfing shield, holding Hibiki. It was rather hard to focus since Hibiki was so close to me, and I could only think of other things to keep myself occupied. If I didn't, I would be too conscious of Hibiki, but that's wrong since she's already with Miku, and I don't want to interrupt their love.

Thinking that, we finally arrived at the control room where Maria, after a lot of trouble, had fallen off with Dr. Ver. She was about to attack him, but Hibiki jumped in between and grabbed the spear.

"Balwisyall nescell Gungnir tron."

Just like that, the gear shone brighter as both of them went naked. Though the light was covering their important parts, they really forgot that the whole world could see them, so I used my shield to cover their bodies from being seen. As for Dr. Ver, he already started tumbling down the stairs.

"Dr. Ver, you're under arrest."

Genjuro's voice came from behind me as he arrived with Shinji, which surprised me at how fast they got here, especially with all the Noise outside. Still, because of them, I managed to steal Solomon's Cane from Dr. Ver, but he put his hand on the ground, making a hole before running away.

At least now I managed to get the Solomon's Cane for the next plan, but then I heard a roar. The outside view showed me that Nephilim was already outside fighting Miku and the others. Hibiki finally managed to speak with Maria because she had already told us that Dr. Ver was controlling the Frontier using the Niphilim heart.

What's more, she asked us to chase him, which made Genjuro punch the ground where Dr. Ver disappeared to, making a huge hole. Seriously, how is he even human? But forget about that, I chased after Hibiki who already headed outside before nodding toward Maria.

Now outside, I handed Solomon's Cane to Chris, needing to protect the others. Miku's laser should have been effective, but the enemy was absorbing it. Miku tried to aim from behind, but it anticipated her, never exposing its back.

Then, I noticed the Phonic Gain increasing, meaning Maria had begun singing with the world's support. Nastassja should have been ready to separate the Ruin from Frontier, preventing the Lunar from falling to Earth.

"We still have our song,"

Maria announced, signaling the final stage. As we approached her, she explained Nastassja's plan, but as we grouped together, the Nephilim launched a massive fireball at us.

"Seilien coffin Airgetlám tron."

A light enveloped us, blocking the initial blast. It was time to sing, further amplifying the Phonic Gain. Naturally, we chose Hajimari no Babel, one of my favorite songs.

The Nephilim targeted us again, unleashing another giant fireball, but before Hibiki could react, I moved ahead, creating a giant shield to protect us while we sang. Shirabe and Kirika spoke to each other, Shirabe apologizing for her past harshness towards Hibiki.

As the song neared its end, the Nephilim bombarded the shield with beams, causing it to weaken. The song concluded, and we all entered X-Drive, even brighter than usual thanks to the world's Phonic Gain.

With a single strike, we defeated the Nephilim. However, I knew it wasn't over. Dr. Ver was still inside Frontier's core, and the entire structure began to glow red before exploding in the middle. I saw Genjuro, Shinji, and Dr. Ver inside a submarine.

At least they were safe and evacuating. But what would happen next? The area where Nastassja was located separated, heading towards the moon. Then, Frontier transformed into a colossal Nephilim, and the submarine plummeted towards Earth.

The monstrous Nephilim loomed large. Kirika and Shirabe attacked, but the Nephilim absorbed some of their power. Chris stepped forward, opening the Gate to the Treasury of Babylonia, but she lowered her guard and was struck by the Nephilim. Before Maria could grab Solomon's Cane, I moved faster.

"MEI."

"Well, looks like everything is going according to plan. Don't worry, I'll be back."

I continued opening the Gate, pushing the Nephilim with a massively enhanced shield, while simultaneously holding the other girls back with another shield.

"MEI, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?"

"This is one of the plans I told you about, Chris. I'll go first, so head back and prepare a welcome for me."

With that, I managed to push the Nephilim through the Gate and closed it before the others could catch up.

"Geez, you're annoying."

I dodged attacks from both Nephilim and Noise, focusing on destroying any Noise that came near. I ignored the Nephilim since I needed to conserve my power and couldn't afford to attack them yet.

As expected, this place was huge. After flying around searching, I finally managed to find copies of the Gungnir and Airgetlám relics. What's more, they were already crystallized, which made me grin. This place really was a treasure trove, just like its name implied.

"Gatrandis babel ziggurat edenal, Emustolronzen Finé el balal zizzl, Gatrandis babel ziggurat edenal, Emustolronzen Finé el zizzl."

With the extra boost, I used the crystals to create bodies for Kanade and Serena. Surprisingly, it worked very well, though I felt the crystal inside my own body nearing its limit. I noticed both of them slowly open their eyes.

"Where is this?"

"Wasn't I...?"

"Welcome back to the land of the living, you two, but our time is limited. Can you sing your swan song now?"

"Well, I don't know what happened, but sure, if you need my help."

"While I am still young, let me help you."

"Gatrandis babel ziggurat edenal, Emustolronzen Finé el balal zizzl, Gatrandis babel ziggurat edenal, Emustolronzen Finé el zizzl." x2

I shielded them, allowing them to enter their X-Drive forms without Linkers. I slowly felt the crystal inside my body cracking even more, and I could feel the Shénshòujìng power about to burst out. I gave Solomon's Cane to Serena.

"Please, use this to open the gate to Earth. That relic is the key to opening it, and for the coordinates, just think about your older sister. We should be okay."

"Okay."

"Then what should I do?"

"As for you, Kanade, I was about to beat that thing. When that happens, I'll be untransformed, so I'm leaving it to you."

"Okay, leave it to big sis."

Then, I used almost all of my power to destroy every single nearby Noise before approaching the Nephilim that were chasing us. Finally, I used the Shénshòujìng power on it. It was effective; I could feel it starting to crumble. But before it was completely destroyed, my gear started to vanish like dust, which meant the relic inside of me was completely gone.

Kanade arrived at the right moment, grabbing me before the Nephilim could catch me with its leftover arm. She bolted toward Serena, who was trying her best to open the portal.

On the other side, I could see the rest of the team looking panicked as they started attacking the Noise that had managed to slip through. We finally managed to get away. Proud that my plan was a huge success, I fainted.

Slowly waking up, I looked around and noticed everyone was in the room. Tsubasa was asleep on Kanade's lap, while Maria was leaning against Serena's shoulder, fast asleep. Serena, in turn, was sleeping with her head resting on top of Maria's. Kirika and Shirabe were in the next bed, hugging each other in their sleep. Miku and Hibiki were sleeping the same way as Kirika and Shirabe, while Chris was asleep at my side, holding my hand.

This scene proved all my hard work was worth it, even if there was a chance we couldn't enter the Treasury of Babylon again. I slowly looked at my hand and noticed it was my male self's hand, which meant I was male now. What's more, the bracelet Fine made was gone as well.

"Already awake?"

It was Kanade, the first to wake up. She gently patted Tsubasa's head before letting her sleep on the sofa. Taking a chair, she sat next to Chris beside me.

"Looks like you did something crazy, Mei, or was it Mamoru? You're confusing, since this is the first time I've heard of a male Symphogear user."

Kanade giggled, patting my head with a soft smile.

"Thank you for bringing me back. I had some regrets about leaving the crybaby Tsubasa, but it looks like she's become a good senpai. She even has a lot of juniors, including you."

She smiled broadly, patting my head roughly, messing up my hair. I just smiled, letting her continue.

"But still, to think it's already been more than two years since my passing... time is cruel indeed."

"At least from now on, you can stay with Tsubasa. Besides, reviving you and Serena was a huge gamble for me, so I'm glad it worked out in the end."

"Wait a minute, I need to ask some questions about that now. Since you said that, what were you going to do if it failed?"

"Well, if it failed, I would have just died there. That's all."

Hearing my answer, Kanade's face turned serious as I stared at her. We kept staring at each other until I heard a voice. Serena was waking up and noticed I was awake as well. She slowly lowered Maria and put a pillow under her head before approaching me and bowing.

"Uh, thank you for reviving me, Mei—wait, was it Mamoru?"

"You're welcome, Serena. In this form, Mamoru is correct."

"Yes, I was talking with my older sister, and I heard you've been helping her a lot. Thank you for that as well."

"Don't worry about it. I knew from the beginning that your older sister and her two friends were good people."

"Thank you for believing in them, Mamoru."

"Well, I won't say anything about your reckless plan, since I did something similar in the past. But there are so many Symphogear users now that I feel weird being the most senior of them all."

"You can count me out of that, since I'm not a Symphogear user anymore. My relic was destroyed in the last attack, and while Fine is making a replica, I think it will take a while before it's complete."

"Still, so many things have happened that I can barely keep up. To think Sakurai was Fine, and what's more, she's the mastermind behind my parents' death… I'm still processing it."

"Oh yeah, my older sister said you cured Mom, right? Thank you for that, Mamoru."

They really aren't giving me a moment of rest, I thought, slowly smiling and patting Serena's head. But still, how tired are the rest of them, that they're still sleeping while both Serena and Kanade have already woken up?

"Well, even though I just woke up, I still feel tired, so I'm going back to sleep."

"Oh, sorry, older brother. I'll take care of older sister, then."

"Oh, I forgot that you're pushing yourself hard, from what I heard. Sure, take some rest, Mamoru."

"Wait a minute, Serena, what did you just call me?"

"Older brother? Ever since I started talking about you, older sister has been blushing. So, if I remember what Mom said, you two are basically a couple, right? So that means you're my older brother."

"Wow, what a man you are, Mamoru. Not just Tsubasa, but you've taken that girl as well! Now that you mention it, since Tsubasa is already your partner, should I become your partner as well?"

Hearing Serena's words and Kanade's teasing, I felt my world start to crumble around me, and I slowly fainted once again.
