Chapter 19: Morgan way of Fight
"Heilen Dominari Holy Grail Tron."
After Morgan sang her holy chant, the transformation began. The team, watching through monitors, noticed a distinct difference compared to Mei. While Mei's bodysuit and gear were primarily yellow with a red tint, Morgan's was more blue with a yellow tint.
"Looks like I can still transform, but the performance is dropping. Well, it can't be helped since half of the relic, Aegis, is still under repair. I'll have to make do with what I have."
The moment Mei was ready, the room began to change as regular Noise started to spawn. Then, Morgan spawned what appeared to be a thin bowl, which began to pour out a golden liquid onto all the Noise surrounding her, causing them to inflate before popping like balloons.
"So, I can still use this. As for next..."
The liquid stopped mid-air before slowly gathering and forming an armed gear of Gungnir. This surprised the group watching; while they had heard of it, they never expected Morgan to replicate it this perfectly.
Morgan began to kill Noise by stabbing with Gungnir, never slashing. This surprised Kanade and Maria, as they tended to slash the enemies as well. Growing bored, Morgan threw Gungnir, which stabbed several enemies before turning back into gold liquid.
Morgan then resorted to punching all the nearby Noise before the liquid gathered around her again. This time, it turned into a sword, which Tsubasa identified as Excalibur, an armed gear with one of the same properties as Ame no Habakiri. However, while Ame no Habakiri was more for slashing, Excalibur was for cleansing.
Morgan kept slashing the enemies, and the team began to notice that every time she slew a Noise, the sword emitted light. Morgan continued slaying enemies until the sword was glowing with a bright golden light. Finally, Morgan unleashed a flying slash that was much bigger and more powerful than Tsubasa's.
"Looks like I can still use some of the relics from the past, but their power is clearly altered, even if just a bit. Maybe because it's a different world after all? But wait, if it's a different world, can I copy their relics, I wonder? Well, I'm already warmed up, so who wants to be my opponent?"
Hearing that, Chris got hyped up as she entered the simulation room already changed into her Symphogear suit.
"Then I will take your first, you're okay with that, right, Morgan?"
"Oh, a hype-up kid. I don't dislike it."
Then the area slowly changed into a city, but Morgan was just standing there, watching Chris as if she was waiting for her to attack first. Chris finally gave in as she started to feel it, wielding her dual pistols. Morgan copied her move perfectly, down to every detail, though her gun and the bullets she shot were yellow compared to Chris's red.
"She perfectly copied Chris's move."
"That is not just it, Tsubasa, she became more efficient in it."
Just as Maria said, they noticed that Chris's wounds started to pile up as Morgan was doing perfectly fine, dodging and firing her shots, even making some of them curve just right before hitting Chris in the back before she finally fell down.
"Looks like I'm a better marksman than you, silver girl, or should I call you red girl as your gear is mostly red? Hmm... I don't know your name at all, so this is confusing."
Morgan was speaking in a teasing tone, which only made Chris feel even worse. She tried to stand up, but Morgan just stared at her before starting to grin.
"Well, to appraise your effort, let's show you a trick of mine."
Then a cup appeared on top of Morgan as it tilted, spilling a golden liquid right on her. When the liquid stopped, standing there was a perfect copy of Chris, except for the color of her gear, which was still the same. This still surprised everyone, including Chris, who forgot to stand up.
"Ah, I got rusty. I was trying to perfectly copy your appearance, but it looks like I'm still rusty, and I failed to copy your gear's color. Well, how was it?"
Morgan spun around, and they were even convinced, as even her back looked the same, except for the color of her suit. She looked almost the same, that if everyone were told that Morgan was Chris's twin, they would believe it. But then, suddenly, Morgan started melting as she turned into gold liquid, and the original Morgan appeared from it.
"Hmm... it doesn't last as long as it should. Either way, I have so many questions on why, but well, will you give up now?"
"Tch... you're more annoying than Mei."
"Fufufufu, good that you know it. You see, Mei is rather kind-hearted, but if you want to continue, I'm fine with it, you know? Since I can do all sorts of things with you."
Morgan slowly licked her lips, and that sent a cold shiver down Chris's back, so she ended up raising her hand in giving up. While she got carried away, Morgan felt slightly sorry for Chris, even though she doesn't know her name, but then the trio appeared, which is Kanade, Maria, and Tsubasa. Even though Serena wanted to join, they said it's ok since there are only few LINKER exist as Fine haven't made any new one.
"Oh, this time, you three have come. While you are the earliest one that arrive with Genjuro, I hope you can provide more entertainment."
Already transformed, the three of them proceeded to attack Morgan from three sides, with Kanade at the front, Tsubasa on the left side, and Maria on the right side. But Morgan was slowly licking her lips as the golden liquid suddenly fell from the top of their head, but they dodged it quickly.
"Hmm... a fast reaction and good instinct. Well, time to get slightly serious, huh."
The moment Morgan said that, the golden liquid gathered in front of her, but looking at this, Kanade threw her Gungnir, trying to prevent what Morgan was doing, as Tsubasa send a flying slash and Maria send a dozen of small sword toward Morgan as well.
But then a shield appeared, one whose owner they knew very well.
"Yup, as expected, I'm really used to this one after all."
Morgan then proceeded to grab the Gungnir that Kanade threw. To their surprise, Morgan fired a large energy cannon toward Maria. Luckily, Maria knew that attack well, as she often used it herself, and barely managed to dodge.
"Oh, you managed to dodge it. Looks like you've used this kind of attack before. Impressive."
"You can use other people's Armed Gear?"
"Oh, Blue Hair, didn't I already say? I can copy other relic Armed Gear, which means, of course, I can use them. In fact, if you give me your relic, I can transform into them as well. Which is why I said that the restrictions on this thing are harsh, as the only way you can use a Holy Grail relic is when you can use all relics, and each of them has different criteria that is a headache to meet."
After saying that, Morgan lightly threw the Gungnir Armed Gear toward Kanade. She then conjured golden liquid in her right hand and spawned a spear, but it was different from Gungnir. It was thinner, except for the head, and had an ominous feeling about it, especially with its dark red color.
"Well, if you like to throw spears so much, this one is rather good for it."
"What relic is that?"
"Gáe Bulg. It has an interesting property, but let's just say the interesting part about this spear is that-"
Morgan proceeded to throw the spear at Kanade, who managed to deflect it just in the nick of time. The spear got faster and kept aiming at Kanade, but as she kept deflecting it, the faster and harder it hit, until she was forced to block the spear and got thrown hard against the wall.
"It has a true hit property, so if you deflect it, the spear will go faster and stronger until it hits the target. There were even plans to make a Symphogear out of it, but in the end, we couldn't find someone who was fit to wield it."
Kanade slowly crawled out of the wall she had been thrown into, wiping blood that was dripping from her lips. Morgan then threw the spear again at Kanade, but when it was near her, it turned into golden liquid again, splashing her face as she noticed her wound begin to heal.
"Sorry, got a bit rough there. But still, for you two not aiming to attack me while I was talking and focusing on that red hair girl, is it because we're in training, I wonder?"
The moment the girls noticed, a chain had already appeared and tied them to the ground. They inspected the chain, noticing a golden tinge to it.
"This one is my favorite. It was something Mamoru taught me. This is just using the Holy Grail's copy abilities to copy only one property of a relic and applying it to something you can find everywhere, like this chain now has the property of Mjolnir, so-"
The moment Morgan said so, the chain started to emit electricity before suddenly a thunder-like sound appeared, the light blinding them. When they could see again, Tsubasa, Kanade, and Maria had already passed out, electrocuted.
"My bad, I overheated."
The chain turned into a golden liquid again, healing the three girls. However, the damage was too severe, and their transformation was undone as they passed out.
Morgan then carried the three girls to a pool of liquid near the exit, placing them down gently before sitting on a floating puddle of golden liquid.
"Now that I remember... hey, Hibiki of this world, come here and let me see what you're made of—wait, that sounds wrong. Come here and let me bite you—wait, that's also wrong. Well, just come here and have a practice round with me. I need to see what you're capable of."
"Umm... can we not? I don't like fighting other people."
"Well, aren't you a bit of a softie? Or maybe arrogant is the right word? It's not like we're fighting for real. Besides, I don't think you can defeat me being so soft. I can handle the Hibiki in my world, and she's way more of a problem than you since she's much more aggressive. So do it, unless you want me to drag that black-haired girl into this, since you're close with her."
"Leave Miku out of this."
"Oh, so her name is Miku? Then make sure to go all out unless you want to see Miku get hurt. And seriously? From what I see, she is a Symphogear user as well, so you need to get her used to battle."
"But we're already enough."
"That's just arrogant. While Mei is the same, she will hurt anyone if that's what it takes to protect what she cares about. But can you do the same, Tachibana Hibiki of this world? Will you hurt someone if they are trying to hurt the ones you care about?"
"I..."
"Somehow, you are even more pathetic than I thought. I'm starting to lose motivation to fight you."
Morgan proceeded to ignore Hibiki, glancing toward the general direction of the observation room.
"You four, come here and train with me. Don't worry if you can't fight without LINKER; I will heal you after the fight since this one left a bitter taste in my mouth."
"Wait."
"What is it, crybaby? I don't feel like doing anything with you, so just shut up."
Morgan glared at Hibiki, silencing her immediately. Even the watchers felt the intensity of the gaze, even though it wasn't directed at them.
"Playing the hero is fine, but don't push your ideals onto someone else unless you know what they have gone through."
Morgan suddenly vanished and reappeared right next to Hibiki, kicking her hard. Hibiki was thrown into the wall, resulting in a huge crash that trembled the entire simulation.
"You're lucky to live in this peaceful world, but in a world that almost faced destruction, half-baked kindness is useless. Have you ever suffered through an empty stomach before what felt like your last battle, huh?"
Morgan kicked Hibiki, who was already down, with considerable force. Serena, Kirika, Shirabe, and Miku rushed inside. Miku fired a beam, but Morgan calmly grabbed Hibiki by the head and dodged to the side.
"That beam... I see, it's Shénshòujìng. But to aim it at Hibiki... you must be truly mad, huh?"
Morgan threw Hibiki aside and glanced at Miku, who was glaring at her with hatred, surprising the other three who had followed her.
"You three can carry Hibiki out. I'm already bored of her. But seriously, aiming that beam at me... if my relic were destroyed, Mei would die, you know?"
"I don't care. You already hurt Hibiki, even though she didn't fight back, even though she tried her best."
"The best? You call that the best? What a joke."
Miku didn't even hear Morgan's words before firing another beam. This time, Morgan didn't dodge. She simply stood there, glaring at Miku, as a giant cup suddenly appeared above Morgan's head, showering her with golden liquid.
To Miku's surprise, Morgan walked straight toward her, bathing in the beam, completely unharmed.
"What? Surprised? Sure, your relic beam can erase other relics, even nullify their power, but you really underestimate the Holy Grail."
Morgan continued walking, each step closer increasing the pressure Miku felt.
"I've killed tons of humans, Noise, and Karma-Noise to survive, and I don't regret a single thing, since it was to protect Mei. So your half-assed actions, which show you're still a beginner to this fight, don't belong here."
Morgan stopped right in front of Miku and flicked her forehead, causing her to faint immediately. The golden liquid began to dissipate from Morgan as she glanced at Miku.
"I'm done for now. Genjuro, can you please tell me if Fine is finished repairing the relic?"
"Sure, Morgan."
Morgan left the simulation room, and once she was sure she was alone, she heaved a huge sigh, sweat slowly dripping from her forehead.
"Well, looks like this one is limited as well. Is it because we're in a parallel world? Or is it because Aegis is still under repair? One thing's for sure, this is going to be harsh if the Aegis isn't repaired any time soon."
