Chapter 105: Miyamoto Tokima’s True Animal Instinct
Jason Silver cursed himself inwardly. What the hell had he just done? In a moment of hot-headed impulse, he had actually gone for a physical clash with the heir of the Miyamoto Family.
It was one thing that Miyamoto Tokima had endured it. But if Miyamoto Tokima had failed to take the hit and gotten injured, Jason would have been completely finished.
Only after the fear subsided did Jason Silver suddenly realize something was off.
“Wait… I didn’t knock him away!”
He finally reacted—he hadn’t sent Miyamoto Tokima flying at all. He had only forced him back a single step.
That alone was enough to show how terrifying Miyamoto Tokima’s strength was to an ordinary person.
Even if, compared to Jason in his current state, Miyamoto Tokima’s strength was still slightly weaker, there was one crucial fact—
Miyamoto Tokima was only in his first year of middle school.
“So this is… the Miyamoto Family’s heir?”
Jason Silver was shaken to the core. Even though he knew he still held a slight edge in raw strength, he had no intention of continuing with physical confrontation.
First, Miyamoto Tokima’s strength was only marginally lower than his own, so body checks wouldn’t achieve much. Second—and far more important—
Miyamoto Tokima was the Miyamoto Family’s heir!
With no other choice, Jason Silver pulled back to the perimeter to restart his offense.
Jason Silver wasn’t just strong. His ball-handling was solid as well.
He kept dribbling, searching for rhythm, probing with repeated drives.
But very quickly, he realized something was wrong.
“Why…? Why can’t I break through…?”
No matter how he attacked, he couldn’t get past Miyamoto Tokima’s defense. The realization left Jason Silver utterly stunned.
He couldn’t blow by him. Physical contact barely worked. And worse still, he didn’t even dare to use his body freely.
He was stuck in a deadlock.
He didn’t want to lose. He needed the money. But he couldn’t find any path to victory.
Jason Silver’s outside shot was decent when he was left open—but Miyamoto Tokima was sticking to him relentlessly now, leaving him no space at all.
With no answer in sight, Jason Silver could only watch as Miyamoto Tokima cleanly stole the ball.
“Silver… got stripped…”
“The pressure is insane. Just watching makes me feel suffocated.”
“Yeah. If it were me, under that kind of defense, dribbling even once would be a luxury.”
The crowd erupted into discussion. Everyone was filled with disbelief—how could a first-year completely suppress Jason Silver like this?
On the court.
After the steal, Miyamoto Tokima frowned slightly and handed the basketball back to Jason Silver.
“What? He gave the ball back to Silver? Is he looking down on him?”
“My god… this is the first time I’ve ever seen someone completely shut Silver down.”
Jason Silver caught the ball and looked at him in confusion.
“You…”
Miyamoto Tokima cut him off. “I don’t want you holding back. Use your full strength. If something happens, I won’t blame you. Don’t worry about anything.”
Jason Silver hesitated, gripping the ball. “Really?”
Miyamoto Tokima nodded. “Really.”
“…Alright. I understand.”
Seeing Miyamoto Tokima’s response, Jason Silver stopped holding back. He decided to go all in with physical play.
He took a deep breath and once again unleashed his Animal Instinct. A violent aura exploded across the court.
Feeling the surge of power coursing through his body, Jason Silver launched a fierce assault.
This time, he showed no restraint—charging forward and colliding head-on with Miyamoto Tokima.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
After all, Jason Silver was several years older, and his physique reflected that difference.
Step by step, he forced his way through the contact, grinding his way into the paint.
Reaching the basket, Jason Silver prepared to dunk.
Then—
An overwhelming pressure crashed down on him, followed by a wave of sheer terror.
Jason Silver’s heart lurched.
“It’s back… that feeling again!”
He knew instantly—it was Miyamoto Tokima’s Animal Instinct.
The next moment—
Smack!
A sharp sound rang out as the ball was swatted cleanly from Jason Silver’s hands.
Jason Silver stood frozen beneath the hoop, staring at Miyamoto Tokima in pure terror.
Because he saw it.
Dark shadows surged out from Miyamoto Tokima’s body, rapidly expanding—growing so massive that they seemed to engulf the entire basketball court.
The spectators saw it too and cried out in fear.
“What… what is that thing…? Why does it feel so terrifying?”
“I—I don’t know!!!”
In the sky, the shadow slowly opened its eyes. A pair of enormous, blood-red pupils stared down at everyone, as though gazing upon mere ants.
Jason Silver’s body began to tremble violently. His Animal Instinct vanished in an instant—like prey locked onto by a predator, instinctively trying to hide to survive.
His eyes were wide open, his mouth hanging agape.
To everyone else, it was just a mass of shadow. But to Jason Silver, it had taken on a clear, terrifying form.
He murmured unconsciously, his voice filled with dread.
“A dragon… a dragon! How is that possible? How can an Animal Instinct be a dragon?!”
Jason Silver was shaken to his core.
What he saw was unmistakable—a true dragon.
Its entire body was pitch black, its enormous blood-red eyes fixed on him without the slightest trace of emotion. All that radiated from it was cold, merciless killing intent.
Jason Silver couldn’t believe it.
Someone’s Animal Instinct… was a black dragon.
“No wonder… no wonder it felt like that… In front of a predator like this, who could possibly stay calm…?”
He muttered to himself. At this point, he could no longer see even the slightest hope of victory. The mere appearance of that black dragon had already rendered him immobile—defending was out of the question.
Perhaps the others only saw a shadow because they weren’t strong enough to perceive the true form of Miyamoto Tokima’s Animal Instinct.
More precisely, it was a form of protection.
If someone too weak were to directly witness Miyamoto Tokima’s black dragon, even remaining conscious would likely be impossible.
It could be said that Jason Silver was the first person in the world to see the true form of Miyamoto Tokima’s Animal Instinct.
And that was exactly why he was so utterly shaken.
Jason Silver let out a bitter chuckle and shook his head.
“Against someone like this… how could I ever win?”
He gave up on the match. Walking up to Miyamoto Tokima, he spoke softly.
“I… I’ve lost. Say what you want me to do.”
Miyamoto Tokima looked at Jason Silver, who had suddenly lowered his head, completely baffled. The game wasn’t even over—why was he surrendering already?
“We haven’t finished yet. Why are you giving up? I told you not to go easy on me just because of who I am.”
Jason Silver was stunned, completely at a loss.
Go easy?
I already gave it everything I had. You bring out a black dragon—how am I supposed to fight that? How am I supposed to fight at all?!
