Chapter 115: The Rules

Naturally, Miyamoto Tokima laid down several rules for everyone.

First: no one is allowed to provoke others first.
Second: fighting is permitted, but you are not allowed to initiate it. If you have a legitimate reason, then do as you please.
Third: no neglecting training in favor of nightly indulgence and debauchery.
Fourth: trash talk is allowed, but no dirty tricks or underhanded moves.

Under Miyamoto Tokima’s oppressive presence, everyone nodded in agreement and signed the contracts. After all, Miyamoto Tokima was paying their salaries.

If anyone violated these rules, all their assets would be confiscated and they would be expelled from the team.

Of course, their pay was generous—but that hardly mattered. The Miyamoto Family had money to spare.

...

Nick hesitated no longer and suddenly launched his attack.

With two quick dribbles, he instantly shook Marlon and burst into the paint. Once inside, Nick rose smoothly and knocked down a jump shot.

After the ball went in, he scoffed, “Easy.”

Marlon glared furiously at Nick’s back. Since he couldn’t fight him outright, he’d answer with basketball.

Marlon remembered clearly—Nick had given Brown nothing but a sense of danger. That alone meant Nick’s strength wasn’t outrageous or unfair.

Possession changed.

The moment Bobby dribbled past half court, Marlon reached out and shouted, “Ball!”

Seeing this, Bobby hurriedly passed it to Marlon. He truly didn’t want to handle the ball anymore—the pressure Nash Gold put on him was suffocating.

After receiving the pass, Marlon faced Nick’s defense. He showed a triple-threat stance, then jumped and released the shot.

Nick lunged forward, his fingertips brushing the ball.

Marlon’s heart jolted.
‘How is that possible?!’

The ball smashed against the rim, bounced high, then began to fall.

Jason Silver had Brown completely boxed out. Even when the ball dropped into a position he could reach, Brown still couldn’t react at all.

“What’s wrong? Are you made of paper? That’s all the strength you’ve got?”

Jason Silver laughed loudly as he mocked him.

Brown’s face turned ugly as he struggled against Jason Silver’s power. His bulging muscles looked like a complete joke in front of Silver.

‘Damn it…’

Holding Brown firmly in place, Jason Silver casually reached out with his right hand and grabbed the falling ball.

“Looks like that’s as far as your strength goes. All that muscle—what, you using drugs?”

Brown instantly saw red. To him, the words “using drugs” were the ultimate insult.

But he didn’t dare strike back. Setting aside the Miyamoto Family security outside, whether he could even beat Jason Silver was another question entirely.

Some people might think Jason Silver’s trash talk was crossing the line.

But that wasn’t the case at all. Trash talk was explicitly allowed by Miyamoto Tokima, and he permitted his teammates to use it freely.

As mentioned before, trash talk was a tool on the basketball court—sometimes even a weapon for certain players.

If someone couldn’t endure trash talk, then maybe they were better suited for casual pickup games.

Trash talk might provoke emotions, but it could also ignite a player’s fighting spirit.

Back to the game...

After securing the rebound, Jason Silver passed the ball to Miyamoto Tokima.

Miyamoto Tokima caught it and strolled toward the frontcourt at an unhurried pace.

Only after he reached the frontcourt did Isaac dare to step up to defend him—but his defense was extremely strange. He kept both hands behind his back.

Isaac believed that only by doing this could he avoid touching Miyamoto Tokima. He was genuinely terrified that if Miyamoto Tokima grabbed him by accident, the Miyamoto Family might have him “taken care of” on the spot...

Miyamoto Tokima looked at him speechlessly and said calmly, “Defend properly. I won’t say anything about normal injuries on the court. Of course, I mean normal ones.”

Isaac swallowed hard and shakily raised his hands.
“Th-Then… Tokima-san… I’m starting defense…”

Miyamoto Tokima nodded. Then, under Isaac’s trembling gaze, he released the ball.

The shooting motion was unbelievably fast. The basketball flew like a precision missile and dropped cleanly through the hoop.

Swish!

Isaac froze on the spot.

What just happened?
Who am I?
Where am I?
How did the ball go in?

Countless questions flooded his mind. He hadn’t even begun defending properly before Miyamoto Tokima had already scored.

Not just him—the Jackets players and the spectators were all stunned.

Some in the crowd rubbed their eyes and muttered in disbelief, “Just now… what happened?”

“I think I saw Tokima-san flick his wrist, and the ball went in???”

“Yeah… the release was way too fast… I didn’t even see it clearly…”

On the court.

As the Jackets stood there dumbfounded, Jason Silver burst into laughter.

“You idiots! The strongest one among us is Tokima!”

With that, Jason Silver laughed as he ran back on defense, leaving the Jackets players standing there in a daze.

Even though they had mentally prepared themselves and knew Miyamoto Tokima was the strongest on the Black Emperor Dragon Team, actually seeing his shot still left them shaken.

With that kind of release speed, they didn’t even know how to defend him.

Possession changed.

Before Bobby could even cross half court, he immediately passed the ball out to the power forward, Raglan.

Zack stepped up at once, applying constant pressure.

Seeing this, Raglan dropped the ball with his right hand and slammed his body forward into contact.

Zack was forced back a step. Seizing the opening, Raglan immediately balanced on one leg and raised the ball high, preparing to shoot.

“Haha! I’m right here!”

A wild, arrogant voice rang out. Jason Silver rushed in from Raglan’s right side and slapped the ball away with a single hand.

Raglan’s eyes widened in terror.
‘How is that possible…’

After knocking the ball away, Jason Silver immediately sprinted toward the frontcourt.

Marlon and Bobby reacted and chased after him.

Brown didn’t move. His massive build made him far too slow—one of the downsides of having such a large frame.

They had thought Jason Silver would be caught quickly, but what happened next left them completely stunned.

Marlon stared at Jason Silver’s back with a pained expression, shock flooding his heart.

‘Why… can’t we catch him?!’

Even Bobby—the fastest player on the Jackets—could only trail behind Jason Silver.

Brown and the rest of the Jackets watched as Jason Silver leapt up and finished with a windmill dunk.

Everyone was stunned.

A two-meter center moving faster than their fastest player—the 1.6-meter point guard Bobby—felt utterly absurd.
