Chapter 67: Everyone Hospitalized

Shogo Haizaki immediately tensed up, fidgeting as he spoke awkwardly:

“Uh… well… it’s just…”

Miyamoto Tokima frowned slightly, already guessing that Haizaki might have been discovered.

“Didn’t I tell you to wear something over your head?”

Haizaki didn’t know how to explain it. Admitting the truth was honestly pretty embarrassing.

Left with no choice, Miyamoto Tokima turned to Shuzo Nijimura.

“Mr. Nijimura, explain what happened.”

Nijimura scratched his nose awkwardly and laughed dryly.

“Uh… well… honestly, To— I mean, Miyamoto… it’s not that big of a deal even if we were spotted. Haha…”

Kōzō Shirogane stepped in without mercy.

“Nijimura. Explain it properly.”

All of Teikō’s players turned to look at Nijimura.

Seeing even Coach Shirogane asking, Nijimura knew there was no way out without telling the whole story.

He let out an awkward laugh and explained:

“Well… actually… we did cover our heads… but we forgot to put on jackets. Hanamiya recognized us from our uniforms…”

Miyamoto Tokima and the others froze, genuinely not expecting such a reason.

Tokima’s mouth twitched unnaturally before he asked a sharp follow-up:

“Mr. Nijimura… where did those head coverings come from?”

Nijimura paused, then answered sheepishly:

“Uh… well…”

Haizaki decided it was better to get it over with and blurted it out:

“Trash bags!”

Miyamoto Tokima patted both Nijimura and Haizaki on the shoulders, barely holding back his laughter.

“Mr. Nijimura. Haizaki. You two really went through a lot.”

The two of them waved their hands awkwardly.

“Not at all, not at all.”

Tokima curved his lips slightly.

“Alright, clean up. There’s still another battle waiting for us.”

Daiki Aomine burst out laughing.

“Hurry up! I can’t hold it in anymore!”

Atsushi Murasakibara put down the snacks in his hand.

“Same here.”

Miyamoto Tokima smiled lightly and followed the group.

Everyone headed to the locker room and quickly changed clothes.

Later that day, something bizarre happened to the Meisei players.

After school, they were ambushed by a group of people wearing strange masks, tied up, and dragged into a small wooded area, where they were thoroughly beaten.

Bang!

A man wearing a monkey mask threw a punch straight into Meisei’s power forward’s face.

The power forward cried out in pain and tried to fight back, but being tied up made it impossible. He roared:

“Untie me if you’ve got guts! Let’s go one-on-one!”

The monkey mask tilted its head—and actually untied him.

The other masked figures stopped beating the Meisei players and turned to look.

The moment he was free, the Meisei power forward charged at Monkey Mask.

Monkey Mask didn’t counterattack, only dodging again and again.

After missing repeatedly, the power forward flew into a rage.

“All you know how to do is dodge?!”

Monkey Mask tilted his head once more, then suddenly kicked him hard in the stomach.

The power forward clutched his abdomen and dropped to his knees.

He raised his head in pain—only to see the sole of a black shoe.

Thud!

Monkey Mask’s kick smashed into his face, sending him flying backward and knocking him unconscious on the spot.

Seeing that their power forward couldn’t even land a single hit, Meisei’s shooting guard panicked.

“Who are you people?! Why are you doing this to us?!”

A tall man wearing a smiling mask walked up to him and silently stared him down.

The smiling mask grabbed the shooting guard’s head.

Overwhelmed with fear, the shooting guard passed out instantly.

The smiling mask released him, muttering in confusion:

“Huh… how did…”

“Cough—cough—cough!”

Monkey Mask coughed urgently, snapping him out of it. The smiling mask immediately shut up.

Pig Mask walked up to Meisei’s small forward and knocked him out with two punches.

The other masked figures followed suit, knocking out the remaining Meisei players. The one wearing a chicken-head mask called an ambulance, and then they all left the area.

After leaving, the man in the pig mask removed his headgear, revealing his face.

It was Daiki Aomine.

“Whew—man, that felt amazing, Tokima! So satisfying! Too bad Midorima and Akashi weren’t here.”

Aomine grinned as he spoke.

Atsushi Murasakibara removed his smiling mask.

“Tokima, I’m hungry.”

Shuzo Nijimura took off the chicken-head mask and said:

“Yeah, it’s about time for dinner.”

Miyamoto Tokima removed the monkey mask.

“Alright, let’s go eat first. Haizaki should’ve already picked a place.”

At the mention of food, Murasakibara immediately perked up.

Elsewhere, Shogo Haizaki looked coldly at Meisei’s small forward, who was wailing in front of him.

“You’re pretty lucky, getting out of the hospital so fast.”

The small forward, wrapped in bandages, begged in terror:

“Please! What did I ever do to you? I’ll change—I swear I’ll change!”

Haizaki said nothing. He simply kicked him unconscious.

Remembering Nijimura’s words, Haizaki pulled out his phone, called an ambulance, and then turned and left.

From that day on, every single Meisei player ended up hospitalized.

——————————

Inside the hospital.

Makoto Hanamiya and Kentaro Seto lay in their beds, IV drips hanging beside them.

Seto spoke quietly.

“Hanamiya… shouldn’t we report this?”

Hanamiya’s face twisted with anger and resentment.

“Report it? Nijimura would never give us that chance. Did you forget what he said during the fight?”

“That was all for show! He definitely recorded it somewhere. Reporting them would only make things worse for us!”

Seto grimaced in pain, still unwilling to accept it.

“But Hanamiya… can you really just swallow this?”

Hanamiya stared at the ceiling, his voice dark and vicious.

“Of course I can’t swallow it!!! I will definitely—”

Knock! Knock! Knock!

The hospital room door was suddenly knocked on.

Hanamiya and Seto both turned to look at the door, puzzled about who would be visiting at this time.

Click.

The door opened, and a figure stepped inside.

The figure stopped in front of their room.

“Gentlemen…”
