Chapter 92

"That said... this Sanctuary Spell is too convenient. Yuuka’s truly gained an incredible power."

We were now deep in enemy territory—yet not a single proper battle had occurred. The most action we’d seen was knocking out a few sentries. Why? Because the Sanctuary Spell rendered us undetectable to anyone I hadn’t explicitly permitted to perceive us. Even if we were noticed, it wouldn’t matter. As Lumière had put it:

"As things stand, Lady Yuuka’s Sanctuary Spell won’t so much as chip unless the Dragon Gods strike it with their full might. I guarantee it—my training was not so half-baked."

Dragon Gods—like Senpai Mill and El—were the absolute apex of draconic beings, capable of commanding lesser dragonkin and rivaling even True Demons in power. A single ordinary dragon could raze a small city in hours, let alone their godly superiors. The fact that this spell could withstand their full force… I’d better not piss off Mill-senpai… (´-﹏-`;)

"We’re almost at the crystal," Lord Albert announced.

Sure enough, the prismatic structure loomed just meters ahead. Inside, a red-haired boy—likely Scarlet—sat encased. He appeared around Albert’s age, but with demons, appearances rarely matched actual years. Focus. The priority was extraction, but how? Carry him within the Sanctuary? Enlist the spiritfolk’s aid?

"How should we proceed?"

"First, we’ll need to deal with the crystal itself. Let me check for traps."

As Albert inspected the prism, Cecelia and Minato suddenly turned toward the cultists’ direction.

"Albert, we’ve been noticed."

"Two are approaching. Fast."

"...Confirmed. They can see the Sanctuary. Professionals, by the looks of it."

The duo closing in consisted of a towering, scarred man wielding a greataxe and a petite girl with iridescent eyes—likely a Mystic Eye user—twirling a silver staff. At 50 meters, they’d reach the barrier any second. We braced for combat.

10m… 5m… 3m…

The man inhaled sharply—

"RAAAAAAAAAGH!!!"

—and cleaved the barrier with his axe. The Sanctuary shuddered. What kind of monstrous strength was that?! Yet it held. No match for a Dragon God’s strike, I thought—until the girl raised her hand.

"Wait—his axe’s glowing?!"

"—Damn it! Enchantment Magic!"

Albert’s warning came too late. The man struck again.

SCRREEEECH!!

A hairline fracture spiderwebbed across the barrier. It sealed instantly, but the man, now certain of its vulnerability, rained down blow after blow. The girl stood motionless, murmuring—

—and five mountainous Adamantite Golems erupted from a colossal magic circle at her feet.

"Adamantite…? The legendary metal from isekai tales? It’s real?!"

At her command, the golems lunged at the Sanctuary in unison.
