Thread Title: Still Stronger – is he real or a myth?

Okay, I keep hearing about this player named Still Stronger. People say he fights level 99 bosses at level 2. With a fishing rod. And wins.

I thought it was a meme. Then I saw this screenshot of a boss corpse with a fishing rod stuck in its eye. The loot window said "You feel humiliated."

Someone explain. Is this a hack? A dev inside joke? Or is there really a player who just... refuses to lose?

Still Stronger is 100% real. I've seen him in Dragon Realms Online. He had a level 2 character, starter rags, and a wooden sword. He walked up to the Void Wyrm (level 99 raid boss) and started poking it for 1 damage. The boss has a oneshot tail swipe that covers the whole arena. He jumped over it. Not a skill. Just jumped. Did that for 45 minutes. Killed it.

No hits taken. No potions. No armor.

His only message in chat: "still stronger"

The entire server went silent.

I call hacks. Damage calculation alone makes that impossible. Even if you dodge, the boss has a passive aura that deals 9999 damage per second to anyone below level 50. How do you explain that?

@SkepticalTank That's the thing. The aura applied. The damage numbers showed up over his head. But his health didn't move. When a dev was asked, they said "We don't know. The game's code says he should have died. He didn't. We're not touching it."

There's a rumor that Still Stronger once tried to create a username. He wanted "The Strongest". Taken. "The Strongest One". Taken. "The Stronger One". Taken. "The Unrivaled One". Taken. He almost punched his monitor. Then he typed "Still Stronger" and the game accepted it. And from that day on, the universe bent to his will.

PRAISE BE TO STILL STRONGER. I heard he once beat a fighting game using only the "Hug" emote. His opponent was a top-ranked pro. Still Stronger walked through all his attacks (they phased through him) and hugged him once. Emotional damage. The pro quit the game forever.

After the match, Still Stronger typed: "Even with hugs, still stronger."

I now main Hug in every game.

@Doubtfire_666 Here's a link to a 45-minute uncut stream of Still Stronger killing the Void Wyrm with a fishing rod. The streamer starts out laughing. By the end he's whispering "what the f***" on repeat. The boss's health bar ticks down 1 HP at a time. The fishing rod never breaks. The chat logs show 50 people going from "LOL" to "I'm scared."

Also, later that day, a dev posted: "We checked his account. No hacks. We're adding a hidden achievement called 'Still Stronger's Disciple' for anyone who beats a boss with a handicap. So far, only three players have earned it. All of them say they still lost to Still Stronger in a duel."

My favorite story: In Mech Warrior X, Still Stronger used a broken mech with no weapons, no legs, and only a "horn" emote. He won a 1v5 by using the horn to tip over enemy mechs. They exploded on impact. After the match he said: "Legs are optional. Victory is not."

Okay, the fishing rod thing is one thing. But I heard he also beat a level 99 boss at level 2 with no armor at all. No weapon. Just his fists. The boss had a 99% damage reduction against unarmed attacks. He still won. It took three hours. He didn't eat or drink. Afterward he typed: "Even with bare hands, still stronger."

Is that true?

@SaltySpitoon True. I was there. He punched the boss's toe for 0.1 damage per hit. The boss tried to stomp him. He dodged every stomp for three hours. The boss's AI eventually broke and it lay down. Still Stronger climbed onto its head and punched it one last time. The boss died of exhaustion.

The loot was a single gray item: "Broken Toenail." Still Stronger equipped it. It gave +0 stats but had a flavor text: "You are still stronger."

I worked on Dragon Realms. We had internal meetings about Still Stronger. Our lead programmer said "He's not cheating. He's just playing a different game than we designed." We tried to patch the fishing rod damage. The patch didn't apply to his account. We checked the logs. The patch applied, but his damage numbers ignored it. The lead programmer said "Let's just leave him alone. He's not hurting anyone except the bosses."

We added a hidden NPC that whispers "still stronger" when you walk past it. It's still there.

I still think it's a coordinated hoax. But I watched the video. I can't explain it. The damage numbers are real. The boss's health goes down. He never gets hit. It's like he's playing in slow motion while the boss is in real time.

I'm not saying I believe. I'm just saying I don't have an explanation.

One more thing: Someone found an old forum post where Still Stronger himself (maybe) explained his username. He said he tried "The Strongest" but it was taken. He tried everything. Then he typed "Still Stronger" and it worked. And he said: "It felt as if even if I lost, I was still stronger. And that matched my definition of 'The Strongest' very well."

That's not a hacker. That's a philosopher with a fishing rod.
