Chapter 126: Two or Three (Part 1)

The next day, in the morning sun.

Kita arrived at the agreed-upon spot just in time, but on the bustling street, Hitori was already waiting there.

She stood quietly, like a cute decoration on a telephone pole, holding canvas bags in both hands, wearing her usual pink tracksuit.

Because she often went to STARRY and walked home with Ishikawa Hayato and Hitori, Kita understood the relationship between Hitori and Ishikawa Hayato quite well.

Therefore, she was quite puzzled by Hitori, who still maintained this appearance.

Shouldn't one dress up more beautifully when in love?

She hurried over.

"Gotou-san, I'm sorry I'm late."

"No... it's fine. Um, what is it?"

Hitori asked worriedly. She hadn't slept well for half the night yesterday, fearing Kita might drag her to some normie place.

In the end, she only fell asleep from exhaustion due to her nervousness.

Kita smiled brightly when she heard her words, lifted the bag in her hand, and said,

"Let's go shopping together. Gotou-san probably hasn't bought a swimsuit for this year yet, right?"

Hitori looked around, realized where she was about to go, and immediately tried to back out.

"Ah, um, I was planning to buy it online..."

Hearing that, Kita asked, puzzled, "Wouldn't trying it on give you a clearer idea of how it looks?"

Hitori looked up at Kita, her gaze constantly shifting between Kita and the floor, and said gloomily,

"But the store clerks are terrifying... if I go into the store, the clerks will keep pulling me to buy things, and when it's time to pay, if I can't afford it, someone will suddenly appear and hold me down to sell my organs, or even get me into high-interest debt, and even my parents will be implicated..."

Kita stared blankly at Hitori, who was getting more and more exaggerated in her fantasy, and asked foolishly,

"Which world are you talking about?"

However, Kita was also quite surprised.

Besides her self-deprecating mumbling, Hitori could actually say so much now.

She was much more normal than the Hitori who, at the very beginning, seemed to think a lot but only ended up doing strange things.

Ishikawa Hayato really is a remarkable person.

Kita comforted Hitori and explained her intentions.

"It's okay, I'll tell the clerks to let us browse by ourselves. I'll help you pick out the best-looking swimsuit."

Hitori looked at Kita.

She felt that the current Kita also seemed to have changed a bit, with a hint of Ishikawa Hayato in her words.

"Mm... ah, thank you."

"Then let's go!" Kita exclaimed cheerfully, with a wide smile.

"Oh..." Hitori weakly complied with her.

...

The two strolled through a shopping mall in Shibuya, looking for suitable clothes.

Kita looked around, adjusting to Hitori's slightly slower pace.

She could feel that Hitori wasn't very enthusiastic.

Her constantly looking around at her surroundings wasn't out of curiosity for shopping, but rather a desire to quickly pick a swimsuit and then escape this 'demonic den.'

Although Kita didn't know why she could sense Hitori's thoughts, she just did.

To prevent Hitori from doing that, Kita stayed by her side every step of the way.

Moreover, Kita was also very concerned about Hitori's fashion sense.

From her previous band T-shirt design and her continuing to wear those tracksuits til this day, Hitori's appreciation for clothing was completely unlike that of a high school girl.

This invitation was both to prevent her from choosing strange clothes for the beach and to help her select some outfits at the same time.

It was, in a way, to slightly alleviate the guilt in her heart.

But looking at the situation...

Kita tried asking, "Gotou-san, since we're here, do you want to buy some clothes?"

"Eh?" Hitori's expression changed, and she said eagerly,

"These... the clothes here aren't suitable for me. Tracksuits are fine."

"But..." Kita continued.

Hitori was about to refuse when she heard the latter half of her sentence.

"Ishikawa-kun would probably like Gotou-san to dress up nicely, right?"

Hitori's intended refusal stopped.

Her expression changed and her mind started struggling how to answer.

As he was about to say "Okay," Kita preempted her, saying,

"Then let's look at swimsuits first."

...

When they got to the store, Kita, as expected, saw Hitori's shockingly terrible fashion sense.

Even in a trendy store in a fashion hub like Shibuya, she could somehow find the most bizarre swimsuits.

"Gotou-san, are you really planning to wear this to the beach?"

Kita, with a deadpan expression, was looking at Hitori holding up a bee swimsuit with a floral ruffle on the chest, horizontal stripes on the abdomen, and even wings on the back.

"Isn't... isn't it cute?"

Feeling a sense of impending doom from the glare, Hitori said weakly.

"I understand. Gotou-san doesn't need to offer any more opinions. I will choose the clothes."

Hearing Kita's decisive tone, Hitori only dared to complain in her heart.

'This... is a swimsuit for me, right?'

But she didn't dare to object, only followed Kita's footsteps to the other side of the display rack.

"What's Gotou-san's size?"

Kita looked at the display rack, filled with a dazzling array of swimsuits, and asked.

Hitori lowered her head and quietly reported her size.

"Mm-hmm."

Kita nodded in response without much thought, then started searching.

But as she looked at the display rack, she suddenly came to her senses, realizing what Hitori had said, and at the same time, the image of Hitori wearing a swimsuit just once flashed in her mind.

Instantly, she felt something huge and round crash into her eyes, and the intense mental shock instantly broke through her psychological defenses.

She clutched her chest and fell to her knees.

'It's that size!?'

She ignored Hitori's worried gasp and kept thinking.

'Impossible, she looks so flat in a tracksuit. How could Hitori be on their side, absolutely impossible.'

'East Asians could never reach that size!!'
